For the uninitiated, after a long courtship period, Harbhajan and Geeta had taken their wedding vows on October 29, 2015, and it was a big fat Punjabi wedding. Their lavish wedding reception was not only graced by the renowned industry stars and cricketers, but Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and other prominent politicians had also attended the wedding. And, on July 27, 2016, the cute couple had welcomed a little angel, whom they had named ‘Hinaya’ into their lives. On July 27, 2017, Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra had celebrated the first birthday of their little princess, Hinaya. The picture of the birthday celebrations had gone viral on the internet because of the way cricketer had painted his face to make his little daughter happy. In the photo, we could see the baby girl, Hinaya looking not less than an angel in her white frock. While her mommy had looked beautiful in her black dress, it was her daddy, who had twinned with both of them partially.
The doting daddy, Harbhajan had also posted a beautiful video for his little daughter that was filled with the adorable moments of the father-daughter duo. While in some pictures, we could see him playing like a kid with her, in some clips, we could spot the pair indulged in some conversations. Along with the emotional video, he had written a few lines in the caption too, and it could be read as “Happy one year my baby angel. I wish I could hold on time & never let it pass by. Harbhajan Singh has always been quite vocal about his love for his little daughter, and his social media handles speak everything about it. However, there’s one particular interview back in 2016, with a daily in which he had revealed the emotions he had felt after becoming a father. The cricketer had admitted that the happiness of becoming a father is way more significant than the satisfaction of playing 100 Tests and winning a World Cup. He had said,
“I have realised that there is nothing bigger in life than becoming a parent. Whether you play 100 Tests, win a World Cup, get all the medals in the world. There’s nothing bigger than the feeling of becoming a father. Your kids are your biggest medals.”
The doting father had also admitted that the respect for women in his heart has increased and that he’s lucky to be blessed with a daughter. He had also given an insight into the way he and his wife had taken care of their daughter, especially at night. He had revealed,
“I want to thank the almighty for giving me this lovely diamond. My respect for females has increased a thousand folds after having a daughter. We are what we are because of them. When she sleeps, we sleep, when she is up, we are up. I am doing all to be a great dad to her. Just want to be the best one for my little one. Hopefully, I can fulfil all her needs.”
