World-famous Indian business magnate, Gautam Adani is the founder and chairman of one of the most profitable multinational companies globally, Adani Group, located in Ahmedabad. The enterprise deals in operations related to port developments in different parts of the country. Gautam Adani had founded the Adani Group right from scratch, without much backing and support in 1988, and since then, there has been no looking back for the business tycoon. Despite not being born into a wealthy family, Gautam Adani was brave enough to see a dream of making it big in the industrial sector.

After decades of hard work that is still in progress, Gautam Adani has managed to make an empire for himself that is reportedly around the gigantic sum of 127.7 billion USD. Apart from being the fifth wealthiest person in the world, Gautam Adani is also famous for his philanthropy and social work. On the personal front, Gautam Adani is married to Priti Adani and they are proud parents to their children, Karan Adani and Jeet Adani.

Indian billionaire businessman, Gautam Adani is celebrating his 60th birthday today, and the day also marked the 100th birth anniversary of his late father, Shantilal Adani. To mark this special day, Gautam Adani and his family announced that they would donate a sum of Rs. 60,000 crore in charity. The money would be administrated by Gautam Adani's charitable wing, Adani Foundation. The business tycoon confirmed it with a tweet on Twitter, in which he shared two pictures, wherein he can be spotted in one of the classrooms of his charitable schools under the Adani Foundation. Along with the pictures, Gautam Adani mentioned everything about his magnanimous charity, and it can be read as:

"On our father's 100thbirth anniversary & my 60thbirthday, Adani Family is gratified to commit Rs 60,000 cr in charity towards healthcare, edu & skill-dev across India. Contribution to help build an equitable, future-ready India. @AdaniFoundation."

Moments after Gautam Adani's charity move made it into the headlines and created a buzz all around the internet, according to a report in Business Insider, WIPRO Chairman, Azim Premji shared his thoughts on the same. The man popularly known as the Czar of the Indian IT sector, Azim Premji is one of the topmost names when it comes to charity and social welfare. Reflecting on the way Gautam Adani announced to give a tenth of his net worth to charity, Azim Premji heaped praises on him and his company, Adani Foundation. Azim Premji was quick to react to the news and made a statement in the media. He said:

"Gautam Adani and his family's commitment towards philanthropy should set an example that we can all try to live Mahatma Gandhi's principle of Trusteeship of Wealth at the peak of our business success and need not wait for our sunset years. The challenges and possibilities of our country demand that we work together as one, cutting across all divides of wealth, region, religion, caste, and more. I wish Gautam Adani and his Foundation the very best in this important national endeavour."
