While Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal are just a few days away from entering marital bliss, their pre-wedding festivities are going on zoron shoron se, and we can’t help but drool over the pictures and videos. Since December 07, 2018, Udaipur airport has been flooded with bigwigs from the entertainment as well as business world arriving to make it a memorable time for the soon-to-be-married couple. When celebrities are spotted in an event, glitz and glamour is sure to follow! But we saw something which is a rare scenario in any B-town event. As we all know that no B-town celebration is complete without the King Khan of Bollywood - Shah Rukh Khan's presence, and this time, his darling wife, Gauri Khan too joined him on-stage. For the first time ever, Shah Rukh and Gauri were seen performing on-stage, on Dilliwali Girlfriend song from the film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani at Isha and Anand’s sangeet.
Shah Rukh grooved to Ranbir Kapoor-Deepika Padukone starrer song with his lady-love, Gauri, and we must say, Gauri totally overshadowed King Khan in this performance and put the stage on fire with her killer moves. While Shah Rukh wore a black sherwani paired with a black and gold stole and black shoes, Gauri is looking resplendent in a sequinned golden choli with net batwing sleeves which she paired with a colourful high waisted lehenga and styled it with an emerald neckpiece, open hair in cascading curls and a fresh face of makeup. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan too relived their pre-marriage, ‘Guru’ days and made all of us nostalgic too! How? Remember their phenomenal chemistry in the film, Guru and more specifically the superhit song from the film, Tere Bina? Aishwarya and Abhishek re-created ‘Guru’ magic at Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s sangeet, as they performed together on the same song after a long time. Isha Ambani’s younger brother, Anant Ambani too, had performed with his ‘not so rumoured anymore’ muse, Radhika Merchant on the song, Koi Mil Gaya from the film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai! Coming back to Isha and Anand’s pre-wedding festivities, a source revealed the guest list for the same to BollywoodShaadis and had stated, “Global corporate leaders, including steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, BP group chief executive Bob Dudley, 21st Century Fox CEO James Murdoch and Diageo CEO Ivan Menezes, among others, descended on Udaipur to attend the wedding festivities of the daughter of Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), along with politicians, Bollywood stars and other prominent personalities.” (Also Read: Nita Ambani Dances With Sons, Anant And Akash On 'Maahi Ve' At Isha And Anand's Sangeet Ceremony)
And further added, "Other high-profile corporate leaders attending the wedding festivities include Khalid Al-Falih, chairman of Saudi Aramco; Bill Winters, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank; WPP founder Martin Sorell; Kenneth Hitchner, chairman and chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs in Asia Pacific ex-Japan; Nicolas Aguzin, chairman and CEO, JP Morgan Asia Pacific; Farhan Faruqui, group executive international, ANZ; Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum; Arianna Huffington, founder of The Huffington Post and CEO of Thrive Global; and Rajeev Suri, president and CEO of Nokia."
On December 7, 2018, Ambanis and Piramals released a joint statement giving out the details of the pre-wedding festivities. The statement could be read as, "The city of Udaipur, and to seek their blessings for the upcoming wedding of their daughter, the family has commenced a special “Anna Seva” - taking up the auspicious task of feeding 5100 people (majority of them with special abilities) three times everyday from 7th to 10th December, to coincide with the pre-wedding functions of Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal on 8th & 9th December. Family members, including Mukesh and Nita Ambani, Ajay and Swati Piramal, Isha and Anand were present at this Anna Seva function, serving people and interacting with them. The Anna Seva functions will continue for four days, from 7th to 10th December and will be performed three times a day at the Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur."
The statement further detailed out and explained that a Swadesh Bazaar will be organised, “In addition, the pre-wedding festivities will also see the setting up of a specially curated exhibit called the Swadesh Bazaar that will showcase 108 traditional Indian Crafts and art forms from all different regions of the country for the national and international guests. Presenting the art will be master craftsmen and craftswomen themselves, who are keeping these traditional arts alive. Creating an interesting experience as also an immersion into India’s cultural heritage. Swadesh Bazaar is a unique concept to encourage the craftsmanship of traditional Indian artisans, especially for a lot of indigenous crafts that need conservation and revival and have been supported by Reliance Foundation over the years. The Foundation aims to broaden and deepen its support to the goals of Swadesh Bazaar on a bigger and more sustainable scale in future.”
And lastly, the statement ended with these words, “From the rich Kanjeevaram, exclusive Patola, intricate Chikankari to fine Bandhani, exhibits cover over 30 types of textiles and weaves. Depicting folktales and local legends, artists will showcase ancient painting forms like Gond, Madhubani, Phad, Warli and Thangka. Weavers, potters and sculptures from all around the country will make this a mega-celebration of art and culture.
