Bollywood actress, Gauahar Khan had broken a trillion hearts on December 25, 2020, when she had gotten married to the love of her life and famous dancer, Zaid Darbar in a lavish nikaah ceremony in the presence of their family and loved ones. The beautiful couple had garnered everyone's attention on September 3, 2020, when we had gotten a glimpse of them dancing on Neha Kakkar's song, Diamond Da Challa. In an interview with ETimes, Ismail Darbar talked about his son, Zaid Darbar's marriage with Bollywood actress, Gauahar Khan and revealed that he is more than happy to see his son having a life-partner like Gauahar. The music director also recalled a beautiful incident from the wedding, when his bahu, Gauahar's mother, Razia Zafar Khan asked Ismail saab to make a vow that he'll take care of her daughter. On which, the doting father gave a reply that will melt your heart and bring tears of happiness in your eyes. Ismail saab said, "She (Razia ji) told me meri beti ka khayyal rakhna. I told her that aap ki beti itni kaabil hai ki woh mere poore parivaar ka khayyal rakhegi." Going further in his interview, Ismail Darbar also revealed that even he had gotten emotional seeing his son getting married and had started crying while hugging him. The musician also revealed that before his son's marriage he used to think that fathers, who cry at their sons' wedding are exaggerating the emotions a little way too much. But at his son, Zaid Darbar's wedding, when he was in the situation, he had realised the intensity of those moments. He said, "I always felt that it was a natak when people cried, but today, I stand corrected. I don't know what happened, but my emotions just swelled up when I hugged my son after he was married."
The doting father also heaped immense praises for his bahu, Gauahar Khan for managing everything with perfection and revealed that everything was selected and finalised by the gorgeous diva and she had taken care of even the slightest of details in the decoration. The proud father-in-law said, "I have been in Mumbai since 40 years and attended several weddings in my family. I am proud and happy about the fact that not just that my son is married today but also the manner in which the whole thing was decorated and held. The entire credit of this goes to my daughter-in-law Gauahar Khan. Every small detail of the decoration was her selection."
