The love and marital life of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain fame, Chahatt Khanna and her estranged husband, Farhan Mirza have been taking some shocking turn of events. After exchanging wedding vows in 2013 and having 2 kids, Zohar Mirza and Amaira Mirza, Chahatt shocked everyone in July when she posted a picture with her daughters with the hashtag, ‘single mom’. Then much later, when Farhan was contacted, he revealed that they have neither divorced each other nor are separated yet. But suddenly Chahatt has gone missing from his life and he doesn’t know her whereabouts. After Farhan gave us some inside scoops about what happened between the duo, Chahatt unblocked him and talked to him over a phone call. In an interview with SpotboyE, Farhan informed that Chahatt called him and he has asked her to come back home.
Farhan shared in the interview, “I told her, ‘No matter what you have done, I have forgiven you for it. I love you and I love my children, so please just come home.’ I did tell her that I wasn’t willing to go to the media and discuss what happened between us. But her sudden disappearance with my children and summons on me and my mother forced me to do that. I haven’t defamed her. In fact, she has defamed me by calling me her ex-husband, estranged husband, divorced husband when we are still very much married. So, all this provoked me to go and clear the fact that we are not divorced or separated.”
When asked if he now knows where his wife and children are residing, Farhan stated, “She is at her sister’s house in Lokhandwala, Andheri West. But they still didn’t share the exact address. She told me, ‘I will get back to you and make you meet your kids.’ But I don’t understand why are my children staying at other’s house when they have one of their own. I also asked her why did she disappear like that? She said she doesn’t want to be with me. I told her if you don’t want to be with me after 7 years of marriage, at least give me a reason for it. Disappearing like this and building pressure for a divorce will not help. I need my answers. I am not afraid of anyone. In today’s era people move on, they walk out. But I am not that person. I have ethics and morals. I remember my vows which I took with my wife. Earlier after Chahatt posted the picture with 'single mom' hashtag, she was quoted as saying by a media portal, “I think it is too early to comment on it. I shall comment on it when the time is right. I am glad you called me up rather than just writing about it. I request media to give me the much-deserved privacy.” Later revealing that they have separated and she is filing for the divorce, Chahatt Khanna stated, “It’s my personal life and I don’t need to give clarification to any other than my family, but yes it’s true, its been some weeks we have separated and filing for a divorce, reasons are too personal to be disclosed. I request fans and people to respect our privacy (sic).”
Recalling the incidents, Farhan revealed that it all happened after celebrating her birthday while they were coming back from Lonavla and were headed towards her parents’ house in Virar. They stayed at Chahatt’s parents’ place but when they got back to Mumbai, she refused to take Farhan’s calls. Farhan shared, “But the next day when we came back, she simply refused to attend my calls. Finally, a male voice answered and she came on the phone only to reject my lunch proposal and say that she does not want to be with me anymore.”
Farhan further added, “I then called up her Dad who said that she might be reaching their Virar home. I and my mom dashed off to Virar, but their house was locked. We asked the neighbours and they said that Chahatt has left the building one day ago and her parents had followed suit. Next day my brother's fiancée got a message from Chahatt when she pinged her to know if all was fine.”
The turmoil didn’t end here for Farhan, “A couple of days later, Chahatt's Dad messaged me: Aapke bacche hamare paas hai. Kahan hai bata nahin sakte. Waqt aane par bata denge”. And within 3 hours of getting her dad’s message, Chahatt texted him saying, “Peace is all I have left you for. I am not missing you and I am filing for divorce”. A few days later came another message which could be read as, “I don't hate you. But I hate myself to do this to myself. You will soon see the kids and me”.
