It was a while back when Shibani had posted a picture of a mystery man, whose back was facing the camera and his silhouette had uncanny resemblance to that of Farhan Akhtar. And ever since, the speculations of their fans reached their peak as to who was Shibani holding hands with, until the Rock On! star himself took to Instagram and posted the same picture from his account a few days after Shibani posted the same. And ever since, there has been no looking back for Farhan and Shibani. The latest picture that Farhan has posted will leave you with a zillion questions. A close-up of his and Shibani’s hands with some cool rings on their ring-fingers made us and fans wonder if the couple has been engaged. While you would be expecting big square-cut solitaire on their fingers, but don’t we already know how unique this couple is? Sharing the picture, Farhan wrote, “There's something so real about holding hands, a kind of complex simplicity, saying so much by doing so little. ~unknown @shibanidandekar”. Rumours are rife that Shibani and Farhan might head towards a summer 2019 wedding. A source close to the couple had shared with DNA sometime back, “They are extremely serious about each other and Farhan’s kids have also warmed up to Shibani, so this looks like the most obvious step for the two." It was not long when Shibani Dandekar finally spoke to Mid-Day about her relationship with Farhan Akhtar. Therein, she was quoted as saying, “We are public figures, so people are entitled to say what they want to. But I don't care about their opinion. I'm aware of who I am and I'm comfortable with who I choose to date.” She had further added, “I am not secretive, but I don't feel the need to say things out loud. It's up to me to decide when and what I want to share about my personal life, and it is up to the audience to decide how they look at it. How much information I want to put out in the public domain is my prerogative.”
For the uninitiated, Farhan was earlier married to Adhuna Bhabani for over 15 years, before they decided to call it quits. The estranged couple shared an official statement on social media and the same could be read as, “This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner.”
Post their divorce, Farhan was claimed to be in a relationship with actress Shraddha Kapoor. However, Shraddha herself denied all such reports and stated, “I got a message from someone telling me about this article, and initially, I was amused. While it doesn’t make a difference to me because I know it’s not true, it’s sad that these false stories go so far that people forget we are human, too.
