Farhan Akhtar had got married to the love of his life, Shibani Dandekar on February 19, 2022, in an intimate Christian wedding, and it was nothing less than a fairy tale. From pre-wedding ceremonies to post-wedding bash, social media was abuzz with one of the most-awaited weddings of the year.
It was on February 23, 2022, when Farhan had taken to his IG handle and had shared the first few pictures from his Christian wedding with Shibani. Sharing the photos, he had written:
"A few days ago, @shibanidandekar & I celebrated our union and we are deeply grateful to all those who did respect our need for privacy on the day. The celebration, however, is incomplete without sharing some precious moments with you and seeking your blessings as we begin our journey across the skies of time, together. With love from us to you."

Now, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar are featured on the cover of Elle magazine for the first time post their wedding. The couple took to their respective IG handles and posted pictures from the cover of the magazine, that read, "Meet the Akhtars." In an interview with Elle, Farhan and Shibani talked about their proposal story and revealed why the Maldives holds a special place in their hearts.
Talking about the same, Farhan retorted that it was in the Maldives, where he had proposed Shibani. Elaborating on the 'unexpected' proposal and her reaction to it, Shibani continued:
"It was a very unexpected proposal. I had no idea it was going to happen. We had not even discussed it. But this is again Farhan, when he decides something, he does it. I was never the kind who wanted to get married and have all that jazz. But when Farhan asked, it just felt right in the moment and after the initial shock, I said yes!"

In the same interview, Shibani also talked about the 'F' tattoo on her ring finger and said:
"It was right after we got engaged. We had not announced it to everyone and it was only when this tattoo happened that everyone got to know."
For the unversed, Farhan and Shibani’s dating rumours had begun when Shibani had posted a picture of herself on her IG handle where she was seen walking hand-in-hand with a mystery man. The face of the man was not visible and only his back was seen in the picture. Soon there were many speculations, and it was on September 1, 2018, when Farhan had shared the same picture on his Instagram account which had proved that the two were in a relationship and were pretty serious about each other.
