When Farah Khan decided to settle down with Shirish Kunder, the entire industry went into shock as nobody even had a whiff that the two were dating. Since Shirish and Farah follow different religions, their match did not go down well with many.

It all started on the sets of Main Hoon Na. Shirish confessed that he had always had a crush on Farah Khan and this is the only reason why he agreed to edit Farah’s directorial debut, Main Hoon Na, at a much lower pay.
Farah was oblivious to Shirish’s feelings and even he did not say much because he saw no hope. Farah developed similar feelings much later. She was more occupied with her film that she had no time for love. Sooner she realised that Shirish is an intelligent man and this is what attracted her towards him.

Finally, a drunk Shirish spilled the beans at a party and told Farah about his feelings. Since Farah also felt the same, the two started dating each other.
You would often find females asking the males about the future of their relationship. With Farah and Shirish, it was the other way around. Shirish is someone who is very afraid of heartbreaks. So, he bluntly told Farah to think it through and if she thinks that this relationship has a future only then they should see each other.

On Simi Grewal's show, Farah explained her experience and said,
"He said if you don’t want to get married, darling, get out! I don’t want to be just seeing you and waste my time. If you are serious and we are going to get married, then, we will take it further.”

Shirish was very afraid of being heartbroken, so, he wanted a commitment from Farah. So, Farah finally thought about it and said "yes" to Shirish. It was Gauri Khan who first found out about these love birds. At the success party of Main Hoon Na at Shahrukh’s residence, Farah introduced Shirish to everybody.
After Karan did a Tarot card reading for Farah and told her about how great her life would be with Shirish; in 2004, Farah and Shirish started preparing for their wedding. The first wedding was a registered wedding which was followed by a South Indian wedding where Shahrukh and Gauri did the kanyadan of Farah and finally, there was a nikah.
In 2008, the couple welcomed their triplets and named them Diva, Anya and Czar. They are three really adorable and naughty kids who keep their parents busy.

On sharing equal responsibilities of the kids, Farah shared,
“ I don’t do it all alone. I can’t do it all alone if Shirish is not there… (he’s) so hands on. You can’t go out and have a career and go for shoots and just leave the children. So you have to have a spouse who is also hands-on.”
They named their production house Three’s Company after their kids.
