Esha Deol Reveals Why She Preferred 'Being A Bahu' Instead Of 'Working In Films', After Her Marriage

Bollywood actress, Esha Deol Takhtani is an exceptionally talented actress, and she proved it after she had stunned everyone with her acting comeback in 2019 with her much-appreciated short film, Cakewalk. The actress had proved the mettle of her acting skills and clearly shown that she still got a lot of magic within her.

Earlier this year, Esha Deol Takhtani was seen in the film, Ek Duaa, and now it is confirmed by Bollywood actor, Ajay Devgn that she will be seen next in the crime-drama series, Rudra – The Edge of Darkness. The series will launch in the later months of 2021 on the streaming platform, Disney Plus Hotstar. The anticipation around Esha's work in this series is huge as it is based on the iconic British drama, Luther.

Esha Deol rudra the edge of darkness

In an interview with ETimes, Esha Deol Takhtani recalled her big decision to quit acting after her marriage with her then-boyfriend, Bharat Takhtani, in 2012 and opened up about the things that had helped her taking that massive decision about her professional career. Answering this, Esha clearly stated that she was clear about embracing marital life and parenthood with her husband, Bharat. She said, "It's not like work wasn't coming my way then. Some interesting projects came in then too, but I wasn't highly keen on doing films at that time. I knew I wanted to have kids soon post marriage. I wanted to enjoy and make the most of my family life."

Going further in the interview, Esha Deol Takhtani highlighted the importance of giving our personal needs and desires more attention in our lives. Reflecting on the same, the actress added that she left Bollywood with only one thing in her mind, she wanted to enjoy being a bahu and a wife. Esha explained, "Today, I made a comeback because there was a calling. When I left showbiz, I only wanted to enjoy being a wife and a bahu. I think it is fair, because we need to give our personal life some time and attention."

When Esha Deol Takhtani was enquired to reveal the reason behind her acting comeback with the film, Ek Duaa, the actress stated that she now has the luxury to choose what kind of films and projects she wants to do. In her words, "We tend to fleet around here and there, and I wanted to have a solid grounding. I feel now is the time where I can step out and choose the work I want to do. I want to work with people, who I genuinely want to work with. I think that time is now for me and I should make the most of it."
