Esha Deol and Ahana Deol are extremely close to each other. With hardly over an age gap of 4 years, this duo is more BFFs than sisters with one another! Every now and then, both Esha and Ahan take to social media to share sneak peeks from their sister time, which often includes their superstar mom, Hema Malini too. It was World Sibling’s Day on April 11, 2019, and for the same, Esha had taken to Instagram and shared a throwback picture with her baby sister, as she leant on her. And yesterday July 28, 2019, Ahana Deol turned 34. For the same, the entire Deol lot comprising of Hema Malini, Dharmendra, Esha Deol, Bharat Takhtani, Radhya Takhtani, Ahana Deol, her hubby, Vaibhav Vohra and son, Darien Vohra had gone on an outing to celebrate Ahana’s special day. When Esha Deol was pregnant with Radhya Takhtani, Ahana Deol had planned a surprise baby shower for her badi didi. And do you know, who was the person who had helped Ahana execute the surprise well? It was none other than Esha’s hubby, Bharat Takhtani! Speaking about the same, Ahana had shared, “I wanted to do this for Esha because she threw a surprise baby shower party for me. So I decided to do the same for her. As sisters, these are the fun girly moments in our life. Esha Deol’s first babyshower planned by Ahana Deol was a grand one. A source close to the family, who had attended Esha Deol’s babyshower had shared with the Mid-Day, “Ahana chose lavender as the theme since it is Esha's favourite colour. Also, she felt that lavender would be a good choice since it's a gender-neutral colour." It was celebrity designer, Rocky S, who had designed the then soon-to-be mommy's baby shower gown. Rocky had shared, “When Ahana asked me to design something for Esha's baby shower, I was thrilled.” Such a doting sister, Ahana is!
While Esha Deol chose to become a part of the limelight quite early in life, her baby sister, Ahana Deol chose to stay away from it! It was in 2006 when Ahana had shot for an ad with her mom, Hema Malini. In a throwback interview with Rediff.com in 2006, Hema ji had shared about Ahana’s acting stint. She had shared, “Who told you? News travels fast! We shot it just yesterday. I made her do it because she has to know her true worth. Right now she doesn't seem to know what she wants. Yeh karungi woh karungi [I'll do this and that] I'll direct a film, I'll do an ad. She thinks she's good for chotku-motku [trivial] work. I feel she is capable of truly wonderful work. So I coaxed her into doing this ad. I told her, 'Mama is with you. You'll be just next to mummy and she'll take care of everything.' That convinced her.”
Hema Malini had also shared if the ad meant Ahana Deol’s stepping stone into the world of acting, “No, not at all. It's just to boost her self-confidence. I just wanted her to know this [facing the camera] was one of the things she can do if she wants to. Otherwise, I'm not going to force any of my children to do anything. I won't allow anyone to force Ahana to do anything. I respect her opinions and will go with anything she wants.” Hema ji had further added, “Yes. The problem is, all of us in the family -- her father, mother, her sister and her two brothers -- are all doing high-profile work. Hema Malini had also shared that Ahana Deol is treated as the ‘baby’ of the family, “Yeah. But baby needs to grow up. She wants to be behind the camera, which is fine by me. Whatever she does, I want her to be the best. The world has become so competitive. That's true specially of the film industry where [either] you are a success or a failure, nothing between the two extremes. I feel Ahana won't be able to cope with the film industry. I don't want her to go through what Esha is going through. Every release of hers is a matter of life and death.”
