For the millions of die-hard Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah fans, the show has been incomplete without their favourite Dayaben a.k.a., Disha Vakani. Disha went on a maternity break 2 years back, and since then, there have been speculations about her return in the show and her fans are eagerly waiting for the moment to come. But looks like, the show has to move on sans Disha as she and the makers didn’t come to an agreement, hence the show is now looking out for casting someone else. Though it is heartbreaking for Disha Vakani fans, on her personal front, she is on cloud nine with the arrival of her little angel. Disha had tied the knot with a Chartered Accountant, Mayur Pandya in an intimate ceremony on November 24, 2015. The news of their marriage came as a surprise to many of her fans. After a low-key wedding, the newly-weds had a star-studded reception for their friends from the industry. And just like her marriage, Disha had also kept her pregnancy under the wraps for a very long time and it was her constant absence from the show that had confirmed the news.
It was on November 30, 2017, when Disha Vakani and Mayur Pandya had embraced parenthood with the arrival of their little angel, Stuti Pandya. Stuti means praise or Goddess Durga. To give proper time and attention to her daughter, Stuti, Disha had taken maternity leave from the show, and she has been teasing her fans with little glimpses of her little one. And June 25, 2019, is no different. Disha took to her Instagram to delight her fans with a glimpse of her princess, resting on her shoulders as she takes a selfie.
On June 7, 2018, Disha Vakani had shared the first glimpse of her darling daughter on her Instagram handle. Disha along her with her husband, Mayur, had taken their daughter to the Tirupati Balaji temple to seek blessings from God, wherein the little one can be seen swaddled in a pink blanket in her mommy’s arms. A few months back, when the reports of Disha Vakani’s exit from the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, had made it to the headlines, it came as a dampener for her fans. According to a BollywoodLife report, when they had contacted the show’s producer, Asit Modi, he had texted them by saying, "Can't say about the authenticity of that news. I don't know." On Disha's exit, he had continued, "Maybe true. I don't know about the final decision. My team is talking with her." To dig further, they had also contacted Disha's sister-in-law, Hemali Vakani, who had then retorted, "It is a too personal question to answer."
Soon after, a SpotboyE report quoted an insider as saying that the Disha Vakani’s return on the show is dependent on certain conditions. Stating the same, the insider had shared that she can't be the 'My Way Or The Highway' types. The source also revealed that the major differences between producer, Asit Modi and Disha Vakani were created by her husband, Mayur Pandya, who had started interacting with the production house (Neela Tele Films) on his wife's behalf.
As per the report, Mayur Pandya believed that Asit was yet to pay Disha Vakani some amount. The insider had stated, "Lekin Mayur saab nahin mante. I think he is a CA and only he knows Maths. But those numbers are only his, not ours." Secondly, Mayur wanted his wife, Disha to work only for 15 days per month, that too only 4 hours per day. The source had shared that these conditions were unacceptable as her maternity leave is over and if she wants to come back, she should be in full spirit.
The insider had stated, "This kind of interference is difficult to understand. Our show is going well, TRPs without Daya Ben have not been affected. Every other actor is working hard on his/her track and we are converging well. If Disha wants to return to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, we will have to see if her comeback will justify the show. And unfortunately, things didn’t work out between them till the end. Now, it has been confirmed as per the reports that Disha Vakani won’t return as Dayaben on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
