At Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding, apart from looking gorgeous, there was one member in most pictures and videos, whom we found, was always occupied with work and mehmaano ki khaatirdaari, and she is none other than Bollywood’s Padmaavati’s mom, Ujjala Padukone. Remember that beautiful picture from Deepika’s mehendi ceremony, wherein Deepika is happily looking at her in-laws, and her mom, Ujjala was lovingly looking at her? And the latest picture which the gorgeous star has posted, reflects a candid moment of the duo. Deepika is at her ‘naughty’ self, trying get to get her mommy, Ujjala, smile for the camera. While the first picture shows Deepika’s efforts, the second picture suggests that the doting daughter has succeeded! In a 2015 interview, Deepika had shared with a leading daily that her mother is the ‘real hero’ in her family, “We all inspire each other in different ways, but it’s my mother who inspires me the most. She is the backbone of our family. My father is a celebrity and my sister started her golf career, but my mother was never in the spotlight. She is happy taking a backseat. Do you know, when Deepika was battling with clinical depression, it was her mother who had first detected it when one day, while speaking on the phone, she broke down? Recalling that incident, the Cocktail star had shared in an interview, “Over a period of time, it got worse. When my parents visited, I would put up a brave front because they were worried about me living alone and working long hours. Then, once, while talking to my mother (Ujjala Padukone), I broke down. She realised the problem, and got in touch with a psychologist friend, Anna Chandy, to get to the root of the cause.”
Commenting on the same, the doting mommy had also shared, “I detected the symptoms in Deepika and I thought it may be due to some boyfriend issue. But then I knew the depression is due to mental and physical stress and we realized that we should take help from a psychiatrist". Daddy Prakash Padukone revealed, “I was worried about the health of my daughter and we wanted her to be fine.”
For the uninitiated, when Deepika had shifted to Mumbai to struggle for her acting career, it had given her parents some serious sleepless nights? Speaking about the same in an interview, Deepika’s father, Prakash Padukone had shared, “It was extremely difficult for us. We were very nervous because she was not even 18. She didn't have a place to stay. She was moving into a new field. At that time we felt she was too young to move out. But now when I look back, I think she did the right thing. Because in that profession, you need to start early.” Deepika had too agreed and stated, “I am sure they had sleepless nights then but I think I was extremely focussed. Prior to her wedding, in an interview with Rajdeep Sardesai on his show, India Today India Tomorrow, Deepika had shared, “I'm excited in the same way as I'm excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I've always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl." Further speaking about her inspiration towards a happy marriage, the Happy New Year star stated, “I've seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and I think for me, that's the way I would like my married life to be as well. My parents have a beautiful relationship. The way they have managed their professional life as well as being together as a family. They have set such amazing benchmarks that both I and my sister (Anisha Padukone) would like to follow.
