To finally reveal about this famous Bollywood breakup, Deepika Padukone was earlier in a relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. The two were always spotted together and we totally hoped that Deepika will be the future Mrs Kapoor. But fate had other plans for this now estranged couple and thus, Ranbir ended up cheating on Deepika and the duo parted ways on a bitter note then. Be it interviews or chat sessions, Deepika had vehemently spoken about her ordeal with Ranbir Kapoor. But what looks like, the duo has let bygones be bygones and are great friends now.
Not just with Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone seems to now share a great bond with her ex’s parents, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor as well. As most of you already know, Rishi Kapoor is currently undergoing cancer treatment in New York and an array of stars from the industry have, every now and then, paid him a visit. And the latest celeb to visit a recovering Rishi ji is his son, Ranbir Kapoor’s ex-muse, Deepika Padukone! Yes, Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram and posted an array of pictures from Deepika’s visit which she captioned as, “Such a fun evening with adorable @deepikapadukone .. gave lot of love n warmth.” Deepika replied back with, “Thank You both for such a fun, memorable evening! About the varied recations on the pictures, Ranbir Kapoor’s now muse, Alia Bhatt, who also happens to share a great bond with Deepika Padukone liked the picture. Ranbir’s sister, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni replied back with an array of heart emojis on the picture. Apart from this, she also gifted a beautiful bracelet to Deepika, which she wrore and posted a picture of it on her Instagram story. Deepika Padukone’s 2017 release, Padmaavat was a film that we all were waiting to watch. After months of housefulls, the film managed to garner a whopping Rs 585 crore and we don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t! Quite like us, Deepika’s ex, Ranbir’s parents, Neetu and Rishi ji had sent in their acknowledgment to the actress in the form of some beautiful flowers and a handwritten note. The same could be read as, “Excellent work!!! So very proud of you. An earlier Deccan Chronicle report had suggested it is not Rishi Kapoor, but Neetu Kapoor who often disapproves of her son, Ranbir Kapoor’s girlfriends. The report had stated, “Rishi Kapoor has never disapproved Ranbir’s girlfriends, be it Deepika (Padukone), Katrina (Kaif), or any other girl that Ranbir has dated in the past. He has been cordial with all of them. It is Ranbir’s mother, Neetu, who often disapproves of his girlfriends. She didn’t get along with either Deepika or Katrina, but she adores Alia. As far as Neetu ji is concerned, the alliance is a done deal.”
Neetu Kapoor often gives son, Ranbir Kapoor relationship advice. Do you know what she says? She had stated in an interview, “As a mother, yes. He is too soft. He can’t hurt anybody. It’s the same with his relationships, he does not know how to say no, and gets into the deep end! I see it happening and can do nothing about it. The first time he felt involved, I knew the girl was not right for him. But when I told him, he rebelled. So I learnt to tackle it another way. I told him don’t get serious so soon, the more you see the more you know and learn, so meet many girls, and go out with them, but don’t commit yet. But I have learnt to not be an irritant. I say it once and move away. It works.”
Coming back to Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor’s breakup, she had shared in an interview, “The first time he cheated on me, I thought there was something wrong with the relationship, or me. But when someone makes a habit of it, you know the problem lies with him. I give a lot in relationships, and don't really expect much in return. But, infidelity is the deal breaker. Once it comes in, respect goes away, trust goes away and these are the pillars of a relationship you can't f**k around with it.”
Ranbir Kapoor too, had commented on the same and had stated, “Yes, I have cheated, out of immaturity, out of inexperience, out of taking advantage of certain temptations, out of callousness. You realise it now, when you grow up and you value it more why be in a relationship, why be committed to someone when you cannot be committed?” He further added, “I've realised that now. That's why I don't want to jump into a relationship with anybody because…unless you have a special bond, a special equation with somebody, somebody who you can be committed to, somebody who can trust you, who you can respect—there's no point."
