Although we all have been speculating a potential wedding that was being planned under our noses by the Padukones and Bhavnanis, but it was only on October 21, 2018, that a formal invitation-cum-official statement popped in on our Instagram feeds confirming the DeepVeer wedding and blew our minds away! The couple had a dreamy Italy wedding and DeepVeer had ensured every possible measure to keep their wedding a private affair. With glances of them captured from far-off, netizens went crazy waiting for Deepika and Ranveer’s wedding pictures, when finally, on November 15, 2018, the ‘IT’ couple of the tinsel town posted two pictures from their Konkani and Sindhi weddings, respectively. On December 30, 2018, Deepika and Ranveer were seen twinning in black as they headed out for their honeymoon and the pictures were all over the internet in no time! They looked ethereal as they held hands while going inside the airport and fans couldn’t help but swoon over their chemistry! Post celebrating Christmas, New Year 2019 and Deepika’s first birthday post-marriage (January 05, 2018), the couple was snapped with their fans-cum-flight crew at the Sri Lanka airport and also while they were heading out from the Mumbai airport. Do you know, Deepika had revealed her favourite honeymoon destination 10 years ago, but it was not the place that they had gone for their honeymoon, but instead she made her honeymoon destination her wedding venue! Yes, during the promotion of her film, Bachna Ae Haseeno, the Cocktail star had stated, “Italy was great fun too. It was 10 days of shooting this lovely romantic song in these beautiful locations. I don't think I would have discovered this beautiful place had we not shot this song there and now since we have discovered it, it's a place I would like to go for a holiday or honeymoon.”
Also, for the uninitiated, DeepVeer’s Italy wedding destination, Villa del Balbianello overlooking Lake Como had a major Hollywood connect! Why do we say so? If you are a Hollywood movie buff, you must have had multiple glimpses of the place as a wide array of famous Hollywood movies have been shot there namely, A Month by the Lake (1995), His Demise, Casino Royale (2006) and also Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones (2002). In a recent interaction with Pinkvilla, Deepika revealed that the couple had already been engaged four years ago and only their close family members knew about it. The newbie missus was quoted as saying, “We’ve fought; we’ve had our ups and downs. But we stuck through all of that. We got engaged four years ago. No one knows this. We got engaged four years ago. Only his parents and my parents and our respective sisters knew about it.”
In another interview with Filmfare, Deepika opened up about her personal life and hubby, Ranveer like never before! Speaking about ‘stability’ in her life with Ranveer, she shared in the interview, “We both bring a lot of stability in each other’s lives. I’d say he brings stability in mine. But I read him say in your interview that I bring stability in his life. He said that he wouldn’t have been able to handle the kind of success that came his way but for me. Similarly, he has played a large part in making this relationship successful. I was scared. But he was so honest, so patient that he gave me grounding. I knew he was the person for me because he gives me comfort, stability and security. There’s never a moment of anxiety. When I call him and if he doesn’t answer my call, I don’t have to worry. It’s such a silly thing but yet such an important thing. I don’t have to worry about his whereabouts. I’ve lived with that fear for years before this.”
When it comes to adoring Deepika, her hubby, Ranveer is nothing but pure goals! Hardly 6 months into the relationship and the Simmba star knew that Deepika would be the mother of his children. In a December interview with Filmfare, he had shared, “Six months into the relationship, I knew she was the one. I nurtured the relationship accordingly. It’s been six years now. She’s too good, too lovely. She’s a force of nature. I understood that almost immediately. I’m lucky to have her. I knew all too well that this is the woman I’m going to marry. This is the woman who would become the mother of my children. I’ve been thinking about marriage seriously for almost three years now.
