From the beginning of 2018, till the end, the grapevine was abuzz with the rumours of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s wedding. And as they say, there is no smoke without fire, two posts from Deepika and Ranveer’s Instagram handles on October 21, 2018, made our hearts skip a beat for a moment. Deepika and Ranveer were about to get married, it meant. And so they did on November 14-15, 2018, in an extremely private wedding in Villa del Balbianello, Italy and ever since DeepVeer (as their fans fondly call them) have given us some major #CoupleGoals! Let’s deviate ourselves from Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s dreamy Italy wedding for a moment and talk about the wedding that they had recently attended. On April 21, 2019, Deepika and Ranveer attended their cousin’s wedding at JW Marriott, Mumbai, and had looked ethereal. Donning a white halter-neck blouse, statement earrings, and red gajra, Bollywood’s Padmaavati looked like a diva and her hubby, Ranveer looked dapper in an all-black, backwards gelled-hair look. While their look was definitely the talk of the event but Ranveer’s gesture of carrying his wife’s heels in his hand as she interacted with people at the party made us shout, “Ranveer Singh, you have already achieved the husband of the millennium tag!”
And now, many other pictures from Deepika Padukone’s cousin’s wedding ceremony have come by, wherein, she and her hubby, Ranveer Singh are snapped enjoying a gala time by the wedding photographers stationed there. A series of pictures posted by the same had Deepika perform some wedding rituals with other married women present at the do. Other pictures had the guests present there, awww-ing over the couple and clicking selfies with them and a few others had Deepika and Ranveer listen intently to what looked like some elders advice, which makes us wonder if Deepika and Ranveer too, receive pieces of guidance such as, “Ab shaadi toh ho gayi, third member kab introduce karoge family mein?”, if you know what we mean! Last year, we came across a rare and unseen picture of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, all decked up for a friend’s day wedding. In the picture, you will see the couple happily smiling for the camera as they posed with an elderly person at the wedding. Deepika had looked like a goddess in a red and golden saree, which she had paired with a bun and jhumkas, and Ranveer had looked like a hunk in a pink shirt which he teamed with a blue tuxedo and a matching hat. Coming back to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s highly secretive wedding in Italy, which had only family members and a few close friends of the couple in attendance, was actually treated like a festival! Their wedding was soon followed by a few impatient hours of waiting when Deepika and Ranveer finally posted dreamy pictures from their Konkani and Sindhi wedding rituals from their dual wedding. In a post-wedding interview, Deepika Padukone had shared how it felt different when Ranveer Singh held her hand on the day they got married, from the time of their courtship period. She had stated, "The way Ranveer held my hand on the day we got married, November 14 was different from the way he used to hold it earlier. Or maybe it was just a switch in my head. There’s a sense of responsibility, which I can’t explain. Now everything we do is ‘us’. Not to say that in marriage you should forget your individuality and independence. But it’s also nice to know that today I share a home with someone. Deepika Padukone had further added, “Even if he walks in at 4 am, he’s coming home. When you’re in a relationship it’s different. We didn’t want to live together and then see if we wanted to marry each other or not. We’re both traditional in that sense. Of course, as boyfriend and girlfriend you stay over, you go for holidays together but we used to come back and go to our own homes. We were clear that we’d start living together after marriage and figure life as we go along. Or else where’s the beauty in the discovery? So now we’re figuring things out. Like I’m figuring out his routine. I call him in the evening to check how his day is going and what time he’s coming home, what he will have for dinner." Hardly six months into the relationship and Ranveer Singh had already known that Deepika Padukone was ‘the one’ for him! In an interview with Filmfare, he was quoted as saying, “Six months into the relationship, I knew she was the one. I nurtured the relationship accordingly. It’s been six years now. She’s too good, too lovely. She’s a force of nature. I understood that almost immediately. I’m lucky to have her. I knew all too well that this is the woman I’m going to marry. This is the woman who would become the mother of my children. I’ve been thinking about marriage seriously for almost three years now.
