After months of speculations and wait, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh finally announced their big fat Sindhi-Punjabi wedding that will take place on November 14 and 15, 2018. As soon as Padukone and Singh confirmed their upcoming wedding on social media, the wishes started pouring in from their fans and friends from the Bollywood fraternity. Deepika and Ranveer are finally taking their 6-year-long-relationship to the next level, and we can’t be happier. On India Today India Tomorrow with Rajdeep Sardesai, the soon-to-be bride, Deepika shared her excitement of getting married and stated, "I'm excited in the same way as I'm excited about signing my next film. Marriage is something that I've always looked forward to in my life, as would any other girl." Deepika further added that her life would not change much after marriage.
Deepika’s parents, Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone, who have been happily married for decades now, are an inspiration for her. Speaking about the same, Deepika was quoted as saying, "I've seen my parents do it so well and so successfully and I think for me, that's the way I would like my married life to be as well. My parents have a beautiful relationship. The way they have managed their professional life as well as being together as a family. They have set such amazing benchmarks that both I and my sister (Anisha Padukone) would like to follow."
Speaking of the grand wedding of Deepika and Ranveer, the news has broken out that the bride will be donning a Sabyasachi creation for her big day. Following the suit is her family as well who will also be sporting the same designer's ensembles. DeepVeer have finalised a dress code for their wedding. As per Filmfare reports, Ranveer and Deepika have decided to have a colour-coordinated ceremony. So much so that even the waiters at the wedding function have been provided with specific colour palettes for their uniforms to match with the theme of DeepVeer's ceremony.
Just like Deepika Padukone was all praises and love for her to-be hubby, Ranveer on the premiere episode of Koffee With Karan season 6, the dulhe raja also said some lovely things about his lady-love on the second episode. Showering some love on his ‘baby’, Ranveer nicknamed Deepika as his Humming Bird. When Karan asked Ranveer which song would perfectly encapsulate his feelings for Deepika, Ranveer said, ‘Sweet Child O Mine, gun N roses’. Deepika and Ranveer’s pre-wedding functions will start from November 13, with the first function, the sangeet at Lake Como, Italy. November 14 will witness the traditional Kannadiga ceremony. As per a source, “Since Deepika is a South Indian and Ranveer is of Sindhi-Punjabi origin, the two families decided to follow customs practised by both communities.” November 15 will honour the Singh’s origin.
According to the source, “The next day will see the couple solemnise their relationship as per the customs of a North Indian wedding.” The wedding celebrations will be followed by an intimate party on November 15. Deepika and Ranveer will host two wedding receptions, one on November 21 in Bangalore and the star-studded one for their B-town friends on November 28 in Mumbai.
The expected guest list for DeepVeer’s wedding at Lake Como, Italy is, “Given her deep bond with Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan who had launched her in Bollywood, Deepika was certain that she wants them by her side on the auspicious day. The couple also considers Aditya Chopra and Sanjay Leela Bhansali their mentors.”
Soon-to-be husband and wife, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone officiated their wedding via a joint statement, which could be read as, "With the blessings of our families, it gives us immense joy in sharing that our wedding is set to take place on the 14th and 15th November, 2018. We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty friendship and togetherness."
