Fatima Sana Shaikh is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood. The diva enjoys a massive fanbase courtesy of her masterclass acting chops, divine beauty, and much more. Fatima made her acting debut as a child artist in movies like Chachi 420 and One 2 Ka 4. Moreover, it was her acting prowess in the movie, Dangal that brought her immense fame and success. However, the actress recently spoke about her diagnosis of epilepsy.
Aamir Khan's biographical sports drama, Dangal made Fatima Sana Shaikh famous for her role as 'Geeta Phogat.' The viewer is already aware of the amount of work that the entire cast put into portraying the characters in the film. But did you know that during the shoot, the young actress received a diagnosis of epilepsy?
Fatima Sana Shaikh talked candidly about her epilepsy diagnosis in an interview with Filmfare. She claimed that she learnt about it during the Dangal shoot. She initially refused to acknowledge that she had a neurological condition since she was in denial. Fatima didn't take any medicine because of this. She said:
"I was scared I might have an episode in front of people,” she stated that epilepsy carries a lot of stigmas."
The Dhak Dhak actress mentioned that she would experience seizures once or twice a week, and the anxiety leading up to events was overwhelming. Speaking more about this condition, she stated that although flashing lights don't always result in seizures, they are known to provoke epilepsy. As a result of her fear, she finally stopped going to screenings and gatherings.
However, she ultimately decided to let the paparazzi know about my situation, and they were respectful and considerate of it. When she was nearby, the shutterbugs would be careful not to use flashlights. Further, she expressed gratitude to the media, saying that while her colleagues sometimes didn’t understand, the paparazzi did. In her words:

In the same interview, Fatima stressed that there are days when she just can't shoot. On certain days, her migraines were so bad that she couldn't work. While on other days, her episodes forced shoots to be cancelled. Fatima acknowledged that she might experience more seizures as a result of her irregular medicine use. The actress said:
"I didn’t want to take medicines; I was fighting not just with people, but also with the medication itself. I thought I didn’t need them to live a normal life."
