When Gauahar Khan had met Zaid Darbar, she was averse to the idea of being with anyone, but it felt different because she had never met someone like him. It is said that opposites attract but for Gauahar and Zaid, it was their similarities that became the foundation of a lifelong relationship. In Gauahar's words, Zaid is like her in many ways, be it in thoughts, behaviour, history or characteristics. In the flow of their relationship, Gauahar and Zaid had hit it off and without a courtship period, he proposed to her within a month of their meeting.

It was on December 25, 2020, when Zaid Darbar and Gauahar Khan had said Qubool Hai and became husband and wife. For the nikaah, Gauahar had opted for a hand-embroidered opulent sharara by LAAM, with embellishments of salma-sitara, zardozi, pearls, gotta, and kiran. Gauahar's nikaah outfit was accentuated with two dupattas but it was the one with fine chikankari work that stole the limelight. Keeping it simple and complementing his wife, Zaid had opted for silk, chikan sherwani and a hand-embroidered stole. Sharing the pictures, Zaid and Gauahar had captioned their posts as “QUBOOL HAI” tagging each other respectively.
Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar were snapped in the city by the paparazzi as the couple made heads turn in their traditional outfits. Dressed in a green-coloured sharara with white shoes, Gauahar made a statement with her stunning look and her hubby, Zaid too, looked dapper in a blue designer-neck kurta and golden pyjamas. Zaid also completed his look with a pair of shoes instead of mojri juttis. Before the couple posed for the paparazzi, Gauahar made sure to sanitize the hands of every photographer and maintained a safe distance from everyone. While Gauahar sanitized everyone's hands, the video got a close look at her Z-shaped ring, denoting her love for her husband, Zaid. Gauahar's sparkling ring exuded her eternal love and admiration for Zaid.
Reportedly, Gauahar Khan, 37, and Zaid Darbar, 25, have an age difference of 12 years but denying the number, the former had revealed in an interview with Etimes that the number has come out wrong. Revealing that Zaid is a few years younger to her but 12 is not the number, Gauahar had stated, “Let me clear this, the age difference that has come out is wrong. 12 years is wrong and it is very easy for people to make it a news. But it is wrong. Yes, he is a few years younger to me but 12 is not the number. He is way more mature than I am and he has brought the sense of balance in my life. Judging and passing comments that the age gap can act as a barrier in a relationship is very easy, but for Zaid and I we have a similar kind of understanding and maturity. So, age never matters or hinders in our relationship.”

In an interaction with Bollywood Bubble, Gauahar Khan had revealed that Zaid Darbar lied to her about his age. Gauahar had said, "I asked him ‘How old are you?’. And he lied to me about his age. He told me he was four years younger than his actual age." Zaid interrupted and said, "I lied because I dint know what was her age." Then Gauahar had continued, “Yeah he didn’t know that I was whatever in my 30 plus or whatever and he lied to me about real his age. So, I was like ‘No chance. Wrong move. Keep walking Zaid Darbar. In my mind, I was thinking 'Oh My God he is such a child whatever because he said he is much younger than what he actually is'."
A few days ago, there were reports in the media that Gauahar Khan was expecting her first child within three months of wedding with Zaid Darbar. Taking to her Twitter handle and slamming her pregnancy rumours, Gauahar had tweeted, "Tumhara dimaag kharaab hai! Aur facts bhi. 12 saal chote waali galat news hui purani, so get ur facts right b4 typing! I’ve just lost my dad so have some sensitivity towards ur baseless reports. I am not pregnant, thank you very much."

On the work front, Gauahar was last seen in Bigg Boss 14 as a senior and web series, Tandav.
