Television diva, Charu Asopa Sen’s family is going through the same emotions as they are all set to welcome a new member in their family and their lives. Charu Asopa had added ‘Sen’ to her surname on June 16, 2019, after tying the knot with the love of her life, Rajeev Sen. It was Sushmita Sen, who had confirmed the duo’s relationship by sharing the pictures from the proposal, post which the duo had taken nuptial vows in Goa in a dreamy setup. And now the Asopa family welcomed a new member in the family. Charu’s brother, Chetan Asopa tied the knot on November 22, 2019, in Bikaner and she and her hubby, Rajeev had made sure to grace the occasion together.
On November 23, 2019, Charu Asopa Sen and Rajeev Sen took to their respective Instagram handles and shared pictures from the wedding ceremony of Chetan Asopa. Rajeev looked dashing in a golden-coloured kurta-pyjama with a red-coloured jacket and Charu opted for two outfits a floral pink-coloured lehenga with golden-coloured choli. For the second outfit, she opted to twin with her hubby, Rajeev. Charu twinned perfectly with Rajeev in a red and golden-coloured benarsi saree and looked like a nai naveli bahu. On November 13, 2019, Charu Asopa Sen had taken everyone by surprise when she had shared pictures of herself, all decked up in a pink-coloured lehenga and Rajasthani jewellery for the Pithi Dastoor. It is a Rajasthani pre-wedding custom wherein married women of a family fetch water from a nearby water source for the bride/groom to bathe in. Sharing an array of pictures from the same, Charu had written, “Vighno ko harna mangal karna, Karaj sidh kar jana , mere ghar main padharo gajanandji... On November 20, 2019, Charu had taken to her Instagram handle and shared an array of pictures from the haldi and mehendi ceremony. Charu had looked gorgeous in a green lehenga with complementary pearl jewellery. Charu had also posted a video from the mehendi ceremony where she could be seen dancing her heart out flaunting her beautiful dance moves. In one of the pictures, Charu could be seen flaunting her beautiful mehendi-adorned hands. For the haldi ceremony, Charu had donned a brown bandhani print saree with a brocade yellow blouse and accentuated her look with red lipstick, bindi and sindoor. Take a look at the pictures:
Charu Asopa Sen had looked stunning at her wedding with Rajeev Sen and had flaunted traditional Rajasthani jewellery. In an interview with the Bombay Times before her wedding, Charu Asopa had shared in great details, all about her wedding. Elaborating on the functions, she had stated, “I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage."
In an interview with the Bombay Times, the Mere Angne Mein actress had revealed if it was love at first sight for them. She had shared, "After our first meeting, we had decided to catch up again over coffee, but I left for my hometown, Bikaner. I was on a much-needed break after my show, Jiji Maa, ended. In fact, I hadn’t decided when to return. However, as luck would have it, I was offered KarnSangini and had to report on the set the very next day. I texted Rajeev from the set and told him that we could meet for coffee. I had assumed that the meeting would end in half an hour. However, we went on talking for hours until I told him that I had to leave as I had an early call time the next day. We started chatting, spending time together and the rest, as they say, is history.
