Ever since July 2018, when Bade Achhe Lagte Hain fame, Chahatt Khanna posted a picture with her daughter with a hashtag ‘single mom’ in the caption, she has been grabbing a lot of headlines for her personal front. In some shocking turn of events, Chahatt and her now estranged husband, Farhan Mirza ended their 5 years of marriage in 2018. And after an ugly spat, it seems like Chahatt has moved on in her life and is happy living with her two daughters, Zoharr Mirza and Amaira Mirza. While the reasons behind Chahatt Khanna’s split with her husband, Farhan Mirza has been speculated since then, and now, the former has shared a cryptic post on her Instagram. Chahatt wrote in her Instagram story, “He said I’m dating 2 together, I said shut up there are 9 and I just broke up with one recently”, followed by a laughing smiley. This is what we could decipher from the post- 'someone' was accused of dating two men together. To this, the accused mockingly replied that there are not just two men whom she is dating but nine men, all at once! To further add fuel to the fire, the accused mockingly added that she even broke up with one of the nine men she was dating. As confusing as it may sound, we aren't sure if Chahatt is just using an anecdote in here or citing an example from her personal life.
In an interview with Bombay Times, Chahatt Khanna revealed that her husband, Farhan Mirza had accused her of prostitution and having an affair with a co-actor. The Qubool Hai star had stated, “It was not just s***** abuse, I went through financial and mental abuse, too. The atmosphere in the house was driving me crazy. He would accuse me of prostitution and having an affair with a co-actor. He would make surprise visits on the set of my show (Qubool Hai) and create a fuss when I had to hug or even hold hands with my co-actor on screen. Once, he threw a fit after I received an invite for the same co-actor’s housewarming party; he concluded that I was dating him.”
Chahatt Khanna further blamed Farhan Mirza for raising questions about her character and ask her if the babies were his or someone else’s. Chahatt added, “Farhan would always keep an eye on me. He even followed me from one room to another. I was not allowed to take both my kids together outside the house, as he knew that I would leave him. It was a solitary confinement of sorts. In fact, he even accused me of dating his own brother. During both my pregnancies, he would ask me if the babies were his. A day before and four days after the delivery of my second baby, he dragged me out of the house and asked me to leave. How he once used her name to get a bank loan, Chahatt went on to add, “He even sold my car and jewellery for money. My second pregnancy was difficult; the baby’s weight was not normal, as I was almost starving. There was hardly any money at home and I had to be extremely selective about buying even food items. I have even sold my clothes online to survive that phase. It was not easy for me to get out of the house. I somehow sneaked out, taking some essentials with me.”
Revealing that Farhan also tried to separate her from her parents, Chahatt continued, “He brainwashed my parents and moved them to Haldwani, Nainital. Once they left Mumbai, he stopped taking their calls, but fortunately, they returned for me. No parents would tell their daughter, especially when she is married for the second time with two kids, to leave her husband. My parents did that to save me. My mom told me to run away from him because he wouldn’t let me leave him. No mother in the world would say that.”
Sharing why she couldn’t leave him earlier, Chahatt was quoted as saying, “He would threaten to commit suicide all the time, even at my parents’ home. That’s also the reason why I couldn’t leave him, as I was scared. Though Chahatt Khanna and Farhan Mirza are not staying together and have parted ways, she wanted to celebrate their 6th wedding anniversary and her reason is quite apt. Revealing the same in her anniversary wish for her ex-husband, Farhan, Chahatt wrote, “Cheers to this day, 8th Feb, 6 year of marriage, for I always celebrated this day more than my bday, then why not today? 8th Feb gave me my kids :) and lessons learned.. may God bless u Farhan .. peace be upon all of us.. #chahattkhanna #Ammaayra #cheers #humanity #love #respect #anniversary #strength #forgivness”.
