The most special day in every girl's life is her wedding day. A bride has a particular place in her heart for everything related to the wedding. But a bride's wedding dress is what she cherishes the most. Bollywood is renowned for establishing fashion trends, and when it comes to celebrity weddings, Bollywood manages to hit all of its predetermined targets. The bridal trend is evolving like never before, all thanks to our real-life celebrity brides.
The B-town brides continue to astound us with their distinctive and exquisite wedding day outfits. However, 'customised veils' are currently the most captivating celebrity wedding fad. Some famous brides made it to the headlines for finishing their bridal look with a customised wedding veil having a special message embroidered on it. Let's take a look at these gorgeous women from Bollywood and their distinctive wedding veils.
On November 14, 2018, Deepika Padukone and her long-time boyfriend, Ranveer Singh exchanged vows at Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Italy. They got married in both Sindhi and Konkani style, amidst the presence of their loved ones in an intimate ceremony. The duo never ceases to captivate us when it comes to fashion. Likewise, they attracted attention with their wedding attire.
Deepika transformed into a stunning Sabyasachi bride for the Konkani wedding in a Kanjeevaram sari with a striking golden border, while Ranveer complemented her in an ivory white silk kurta worn with a dhoti and mundavlya. With a red and gold lehenga and a veil with gorgeous patti and embroidery, Deepika looked like a true Indian bride.
However, the wedding dupatta that Deepika wore caught our attetion and made a statement. She had a custom-made veil with the gold Sanskrit inscription 'Sada Saubhagyavati Bhava', which means 'May you always be lucky as a married woman'. The queen of Bollywood never stops making an impression on the fashion industry, as evidenced by her customised wedding veil.
Patralekha and Rajkummar Rao are one of the cutest B-town couples. On November 15, 2021, Patralekha and Rajkumar Rao got married in Chandigarh, after approximately 11 years of courtship. For their big day, the pair opted for Sabyasachi attires. Rajkummar Rao donned a Bangalore silk churidar and kurta with an ivory raw silk jacket that was embroidered and had gold-plated Bengal tiger buttons. On the other hand, Patralekha appeared incredibly gorgeous and evolved into the most stunning Indian bride in a traditional red buti sari with embroidered crimson tulle and customised accents.
However, what caught our attention was Patralekha's wedding veil, which was the most stunning component of her bridal attire. She decided on a red veil with embroidery and a personalised message for Rajkummar Rao. The Bengali phrase 'Amar paran bhora bhalobasha ami tomay somorpon korilam,' which means 'I give my heart filled with love to you,' was embroidered on her bridal dupatta. Isn't that the loveliest way to express her love?
Unquestionably, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are a match made in heaven. They make the most gorgeous combination. On April 14, 2022, the pair exchanged vows in a small ceremony at their Mumbai residence. Ranbir and Alia are the B-town fashion stars, and their wedding attire really captivated us. The couple chose ivory rather than the usual red colour, and they looked gorgeous. In every way, the duo resembled a Sabyasachi bride and groom.
In place of the traditional red lehenga, Alia Bhatt wore a hand-dyed ivory organza sari. Along with it, she paired a handwoven tissue veil. Ranbir complemented his bride in an embroidered silk sherwani, a silk organza safa, and a shawl with zari marori embroidery. His sherwani was adorned with uncut diamond buttons by Sabyasachi.
The sari that Alia wore for her wedding wasn't especially customised. However, the wedding dupatta worn by our elegant bride didn't fail to astound us. Alia's wedding veil bears a personal memory embroidered on it. She personalised her bridal veil and added the wedding date. The words 'The fourteenth of April 2022' are stitched in white across the dupatta. In the simplest way possible, Alia undoubtedly understands how to make her day special and memorable.
On January 27, 2022, Mouni Roy wedded her longtime partner, entrepreneur Suraj Nambiar, who is a Dubai-based entrepreneur. They had two weddings, one Malayalee and one Bengali. Mouni chose a traditional red and white Garad Bengali sari with a golden border made by Anuradha Khurana for the Malayalee wedding. Suraj matched his bride's outfit with a beige kurta and a traditional Kerala mundu with a golden border.
Mouni transformed into a Sabyasachi bride for her Bengali wedding, she selected a beautiful crimson lehenga and matched it with a double dupatta. Suraj, on the other hand, opted for a magnificent sherwani from Sabyasachi. He dressed in a contrasting beige tone for Mouni to complement her. By choosing a personalised veil, Mouni gave her bridal attire a distinctive element. 'Ayushmati Bhava' was embroidered along the border of Mouni's wedding dupatta, making it more beautiful and unique.
