Talking to SpotboyE, Boney Kapoor revealed what he thinks of the movie and said, "It goes into the horror-comedy genre. It has genuinely scary and genuinely LOL moments. Audiences would either have a good laugh over the spooky content, or else, there are some whose faith in the supernatural would be strengthened." SpotboyE also reported that when Janhvi Kapoor had discussed Roohi with her father Boney, he had immediately told her to go for it. In Janhvi's words, "He said it is comedy and horror. The blend has already worked in Stree."
Boney Kapoor further added that he is extremely proud of his daughter, Janhvi for her portrayal of Roohi. He also praised Raj Kummar Rao and Varun Sharma and said, "Janhvi, Raj Kummar Rao and Varun Sharma are a riot in Roohi. Janhvi is working so hard. She wants to get better with every film. Her mother would have been proud of her." The producer also expressed his wish to portray Janhvi Kapoor's father's role on screen. He said, "Rather than see someone else play Janhvi's father I'd like to do the needful."
Some days ago, Janhvi Kapoor had invited her staffer, Azeem, and his whole family for her film, Roohi's screening. In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Janhvi had talked about the legacy of her parents which she intends to take forward and the effects of being a star kid. She had shared that she doesn't take her mother's legacy lightly and had said that she thinks of it as a responsibility. Her mother, in particular, had gotten so much love and appreciation from the audience. Janhvi had further shared that she has learnt the art of 'working hard' from her mother, Sridevi. She had stated that she doesn’t think it is possible, for anyone, let alone her to be like the legendary actress. However, her intention with her work is the same. The kind of hard work she had put in, has been inculcated in Janhvi too, by DNA, and conditioning.
In an interview with the Filmfare, Janhvi Kapoor had opened up on becoming the lady of the house post her mother, Sridevi’s demise and had stated, “I don’t think I have become the lady of the house because I'm very childish. But during this lockdown, I'm understanding how much people at home depend on me a lot more. Because I haven't been home this much for the past 2 years. Now all of sudden I'm keeping track of what Papa is eating, or why Khushi is sleeping so long, and how they are going to get vegetables and if they are sanitizing everything properly or what the protocols are. I was thinking If I wasn't here I don't know what would have been happening. I think they would have managed. I think the responsibility has just dawned on me that they do depend on me a bit.” (Don't Miss: Anita Hassanandani Is All Ready For Second Baby, Shares A Throwback Picture Of Her Baby Bump)
