Famous Bollywood singer-turned-politician, Babul Supriyo tied the knot with his girlfriend, Rachna Sharma on August 9, 2016, in New Delhi. The wedding took place at The Ashok, New Delhi, with who’s who of Indian politics in attendance.

On their wedding, Babul was looking great in an off-white outfit, while Rachna dazzled in a red and blue lehenga.
Well, the soothing voice behind hit songs from movies like Hum Tum, Fanaa, Vivah, etc, certainly needs no introduction. What a few of you might not know about Babul is that he is presently serving as a Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, in the Government of India. Rachna, on the other hand, is an ex-crew member of a reputed airline.
The love story of this couple is quite interesting. They met each other for the first time in 2014, in a Mumbai-Kolkata flight, in which Rachna was a cabin crew member. It was love at first sight for Babul. He then spoke to her and asked her for her number. Thereafter, they started talking to each other frequently and started dating soon. They got engaged in June this year after dating each other for around 2 years.
After his engagement, the singer had opened up about his relationship in an interview to a magazine, and he said:
“For the last two years, my fate seems to have been circling in the air. Strange things are happening 30-35,000 ft above the sea level. Seems like someone is sitting up there and writing the script of my life.”
This is Babul’s second marriage. He earlier got married to Rhea in 1995, but they separated in 2006. He also has a daughter from his previous marriage, Sharmilee.

Babul and Rachna’s wedding ceremony was attended by many politicians as well as Bollywood celebs.
Other high-profile politicians present at the do included Shashi Tharoor, Rajnath Singh, L K Advani, Digvijay Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia, and many more. Among Bollywood celebs, singer Anu Malik was spotted at the ceremony.
