From the time Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had announced their pregnancy, they have made it clear about the privacy they're expecting from the media for their little one. Virat and Anushka want to keep their daughter, Vamika away from the limelight but their privacy was often violated when the couple travelled with the little one. Fans want to know every trivial detail of the little one.

A few days ago, Virat Kohli's sister, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra was asked about her niece, Vamika during an interactive session on Instagram. A fan had asked Bhawna, "Have you met Vamika, whom she looks like more Anushka or virat." She had replied, "Yes we have and she's an angel" with a lovestruck emoji. Bhawna was also asked to say something about her sisters-in-law, Anushka Sharma and Chetna. She had retorted, "They both are awesome, we love them" followed by a heart emoji.
Soon, reports were in the media that Bhawna Kohli Dhingra revealed, who does Vamika look like. Bhawna now issued a statement requesting people to stop discussing Vamika and respecting Virat and Anushka's privacy. She clarified, "Guys Virat and Anushka have already requested media to refrain from Vamika's pics. Please do not encourage or entertain any news that suggests that I have revealed how she looks. I totally respect their decision and would not do so myself."
Some time back, when Virat Kohli was asked the meaning of Vamika's name and a glimpse of the little one in an 'Ask Me Anything' session, he had replied, "Vamika is another name for goddess Durga. No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice."

When Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had embraced parenthood with the arrival of their little angel, Vamika, the proud bua, Bhawna Kohli Dhingra had dedicated a special post on her Instagram handle to welcome her niece into their lives. To welcome Vamika, Bhawna had written, "So happy to be a bua of a beautiful little angel. Congratulations, proud parents Virat and Anushka."
In March 2021, when Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and Vamika were snapped by the paparazzi at Ahmedabad airport, the actress was seen holding her little one in her arms as the cricketer followed them, holding the luggage and a baby carrycot. On the pictures and videos, while Anushka and Virat were appreciated for travelling without nannies and entourage, setting the right example, some netizens had also expressed their concern over the couple's request for the privacy of their daughter, Vamika.
Requesting Vamika's privacy, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma had released a statement for the paparazzi fraternity that could be read as "As parents, we have a simple request to make to you. We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support. While, we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child. We know that you will understand where we are coming from and we thank you for the same."
