Bhagyashree Reveals Hubby, Himalay Didn't Want Her To Romance Others On Screen, Talks About In-Laws

Bollywood actress, Bhagyashree had become an overnight star after the release of her debut film, Maine Pyaar Kiya, opposite Salman Khan. However, the actress, who belongs to a royal family, had retaliated against her parents and had left her home to marry her longtime boyfriend and school time crush, Himalay Dassani. Soon after tying the knot, Bhagyashree had left her career to become a proud homemaker. Bhagyashree's decision to take a sabbatical from movies had shocked millions of her fans and had saddened many directors who were waiting to sign her for their films.

But for Bhagyashree, her priority was always her family and relationships. Though after a few years, she did make a comeback to the silver screen and it was for good. Now, the actress revealed that her in-laws could never understand her stardom and hard work as an actor. She also mentioned that her husband, Himalay does not like the idea of her romancing others on screen.

In a recent conversation with Pinkvilla, Bhagyashree disclosed that the moment she had stepped inside her in-laws' place, she had to shed off her actress avatar and had to do household chores as any other homemaker would do. In her words:

"I had Maine Pyaar Kiya behind me and then I got married into a household, which had nothing to do with films. So, they couldn't understand anything about the way life was outside. Literally, when I was working, I would step my foot into the house, and my life would change. I would no longer be Bhagyashree the actress. There would be so many things that you would have to do, hands-on like any other housewife does, and I would be doing all of them."

Further in the interview, Bhagyashree shared that some people at her in-law's place would not understand an actor's job and would say an actress just needs to put on makeup and look pretty. Elaborating how she used to feel exhausted after returning from a shoot and no one would understand her, Bhagyashree said:

"You have to put in double efforts to make sure they don't find fault in that. I would say that if I would come home tired from a shoot, there wouldn't be people understanding that she has come exhausted after working for 10-20 hours. They would say, ‘Waha kya karna hota hai. You put on makeup, you have to pretty.' There were people who at that point of time could not understand that I could be tired."

"The kind of films that were being made and having a very possessive husband, it gave a lesser spectrum of films that I could have worked on without him because there would be romance in films, he was not comfortable with it."
