It was in the last quarter of 2018, when Tahira had announced the news of her breast cancer with her fans. Ayushmann had taken to his IG handle and had shared a picture of Tahira from the hospital and had revealed how proud he is of his warrior princess. His note could be read as “Thanks for your wishes & support. Last 7 days have been tough but we have decided to have a happy life state & fight this challenge. I’m proud of my warrior princess.”
A few hours back, Tahira Kashyap took to her IG handle and shared a video where she recited a poem on World Cancer Day. Inspiring people with her battle against cancer, Tahira captioned her post as “World Cancer Day. This is something I had experienced and written about and still mean every word of it! Joining this year’s theme of I AM AND I WILL , I urge you all to take notice of this day, to spread awareness about early breast cancer detection, to remove any stigma associated with it and to celebrate life along with it’s many scars.” Ayushmann shared Tahira’s poem on his IG story and wrote, “Proud of you! #WorldCancerDay” followed by a heart emoticon atop it.
On 2019 World Cancer Day, Tahira had taken to her IG handle and had shared a picture of her Cancer surgery scar and had written an inspirational note. Her note could be read as “Today is my day! Wish you all a happy #worldcancerday and hope each one of us celebrates this day in an embracing way. That we remove any stigma or taboo associated with it. That we spread awareness about it and that we have self love no matter what. I truly embrace all my scars as they are my badges of honour. There is nothing known as perfect. Happiness lies in truly accepting yourself. This was a tough one for me. Do you know, Tahira was diagnosed with cancer on Ayushmann’s birthday in 2018? When the actor was promoting his two blockbuster films, Bashaai Ho and Andhadhun, his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Ayushmann had been her constant support throughout her survival journey and had stood like a pillar while supporting her at every juncture. In an interview with the Mid-Day, Ayushmann had revealed that Tahira was diagnosed on his birthday (September 14) and they had to maintain a happy state to deal with the trauma. He had stated that there was no point in crying and he had taken her to watch the film, Manmarziyaan. After the film, they had come back and had gotten the date for her operation.
