If there is one Bollywood actor who has been ruling the silver screen like how recently, it’s Ayushmann Khurrana. With back to back successful films like Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho, Ayushmann has really proven his mettle on the celluloid. And he, along with his wife, Tahira Kashyap has become one of the most popular couples in the tinsel town. We know that Tahira was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and she went for preventive mastectomy. Like a supportive husband, Ayushmann has been by Tahira’s side as a strong pillar of support. In fact, because his wife couldn’t keep fast on Karva Chauth recently, he went ahead and did that for her well-being and health.
Now, in the recent episode of Neha Dhupia’s chat show No Filter Neha, Ayushmann has revealed that his equation with his wife, Tahira had deteriorated after she watched his kissing scene with Yami Gautam in his debut film, Vicky Donor. He also revealed that the success of the film went down the drain because of the turmoil in his marital life, and that it took 3 years before things finally settled.
The 34-year-old actor also shared that his wife is now more open about him kissing on-screen. In fact, he revealed that Tahira also sits with the editing team many times and gives her insights and suggestions for kissing scenes of Ayushmann. He recalled that during the shoot of Manmarziyaan (Anurag Kashyap had shot 10 days with Ayushmann and Bhumi Pednekar, and then after some tussle, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu came on board), for a kissing scene, he had to take 20 takes and Tahira was present on the sets and had no problem at all.
In an earlier interview as well, Ayushmann had opened up about the rough patch in his marital life after Vicky Donor. He had said, “Of course, she (Tahira) was disturbed. I was wanted by everyone (after Vicky Donor became a hit). We were also going through a rough patch. She was not ready for all this”. He had further revealed, “She wanted to of course that I should not kiss on screen. You see, we were like the first boyfriend and girlfriend of each other. But Tahira is also an artiste. She has grown tremendously. I was very immature when I married. Plus, we had a long-distance marriage for the longest time. I am glad that things are good now”.
It must be mentioned here that Ayushmann and Tahira have been married for 10 years now, and in fact, today i.e. November 01, 2018, they are celebrating their tenth marriage anniversary. Ayushmann took to social media and sharing the following picture from their wedding, beautifully wrote (translated), "My childhood love! Made a decade together, seems like will also make a century. Ten years of togetherness. Happy anniversary”.
Ayushmann and Tahira always speak admirably of each other. In an interview once, Shubh Mangal Savdhan actor had said, “It is one of my achievements that I am married to her. It is difficult to find a girl like her. She has been with me through thick and thin. She was a pillar of support during my struggling days. She is more mature than I am. I am still childish. I value her advice”.
His wifey, Tahira, on the other hand, had said, “As a husband, Ayush is a much better person than the guy I was dating. He is an amazing human being and I love him for his sound character- which is not just reflected in him as a husband, but also as an employee, employer, friend, son, brother, son-in-law... The couple is blessed with two children- a son named Virajveer, and a daughter named, Varushka. May Ayushmann and Tahira remain happy till the eternity.
