On the day of Karva Chauth, a married woman fasts the whole day and performs rituals for the well-being and long life of her husband. But one such celeb wife who wouldn’t be able to do so is Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, Tahira Kashyap. Because of her on-going treatment owing to her illness because of breast cancer, Tahira is unable to celebrate Karva Chauth today, but guess what? When you have a hands-on husband, like Ayushmann, all your worries go down the gutter.
Ayushmann took to his Instagram stories, and shared the following picture in which we can see he has written ‘T’ for Tahira with henna, and captioned it the beautiful words, “She can’t fast this time. But I will. For Her good health and long life. #karvachauth”. Isn’t this the sweetest thing a husband can do for his wife?
For those who do not know, Tahira was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She shared the news with the world by posting the following picture on social media and writing, “I was detected with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) in my right breast with high-grade malignant cells. Simply put stage 0 cancer/ pre-cancerous stage, with cancer cells multiplying in a contained area. The result I have become a half Indian version of Angelina Jolie (since only one breast was involved)! I told my doctor now is the time to give some competition to the Kardashians since Pamela is passé”. Ayushmann has always proven himself to be a doting and caring husband for Tahira. Talking to Mid-Day, when he was asked about his wife’s illness, he had shared, “We had to maintain a happy life state to deal with it. In fact, after we got to know about her condition, we went to see Manmarziyaan that evening. We told ourselves, ‘Okay, we’ve been diagnosed. We can’t go home and cry about it. It’s better to go for a film.’ So, we watched the film, came back and got the date for her operation”.
In another interview, the 34-year-old actor said, “I think I have started looking life in a different way altogether. I'm happier as a person, I'm more patient as a person. Small things don't bother me anymore because with an issue like that you have to have a very healthy and happy state of mind”.
He further added, “So, in the morning I used to promote my films and go back to the hospital in the night. I was sleepless for seven nights and seven days. It was not easy but since she was positive, she inspired me a lot. We were also lucky enough as we got to know about it at the early stage that's the silver lining. We decided to keep it positive”.
