One of the perils of being in love is that it fades away! The person you imagine your life with becomes the reason behind your pain. It is hard to stay in such a relationship and it is even harder to stay away. And that's exactly what happened with Bollywood couple, Imran Khan and Avantika Malik. They were once hailed as the perfect B-town couple and made us believe in the power of love. But last year, the couple's marriage had hit a rough patch and nothing has changed since then. Imran and Avantika had exchanged the wedding vows in the year 2011. But the rumours of their troubled marriage has shocked the entire nation. In May 2019, Avantika had left Imran's residence with their daughter, Imara and currently, she is staying with her family. And while we had hoped that it remained just a rumour, Avantika's mother had confirmed the news and had stated that they are just facing some issues which will be sorted soon.
On January 13, 2020, Imran Khan celebrated his 37th birthday. And while everyone wished him by sharing cute wishes, his estranged wife, Avantika took to her Instagram handle and shared a cryptic poem. It can be read as "At my last moment. In that small space. Between right now and forever. There will be no fear or regret just one last 'I love you' sent from my soul to yours." Sharing the poem, Avantika wrote, "#poetry #somedaysarelikethat."
For those who don't know, Avantika and Imran met each other when they were just in their teens. It was in the year 2002 when Imran (19-year-old) had met the 15-year-old, Avantika in Mumbai. And soon they fell in love and their relationship grew so strong that when in 2004 the actor had left for the United States to pursue a film direction course, his muse, Avantika had tagged along. In one of the media interactions, Imran had shared, "My family and Avantika’s were fine with it. It helped us understand the relationship better so I support it whole-heartedly." In an interview with The Times of India, Avantika had talked about Imran and had shared, "He’s a better husband, there’s no doubt about it. He’s fantastic. He’s the best person to live with because he is able to be with you and be supportive, but also gives you tremendous space. He really looks after me, I have to give him that. Especially when we were moving into our own space and I was really nervous. I have lived in my mom’s house all my life, except for the year-and-a-half in LA as a student, so there were no responsibilities. I was nervous about whether I would be able to run a house, but he was very supportive of me, and in everything that I have chosen to do or not do."
Avantika had also shared that they don't fight often and had said, "We don’t really fight that much. Considering I am a feisty person, I think he just knows how to handle me. (laughs) We fight about silly things like how much time he spends on the iPad or things like that. But no major conflict."
