It was 23 years ago, in November 1997, when Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan were visited by the stork with their firstborn, a little bundle of happiness, Aryan Khan. With the arrival of Aryan in their lives, Shah Rukh and Gauri had tasted the joy of parenthood bliss. The 12th of November in 1997 had marked the birth of a future star and be it his cameo as baby Shah Rukh Khan in the film, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham or him being the voice behind Simba in The Lion King, we are sure that Aryan will give a tough competition to the stardom of his superstar father, Shah Rukh.
Though we are excited for Aryan Khan's debut in Bollywood, it was heartbreaking to know that he will be pursuing his career in the industry but not as an actor. Shah Rukh Khan had once, on Netflix original, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman, revealed that while his daughter, Suhana Khan wants to be an actress, Aryan doesn't want to act. Shah Rukh had praised Aryan for his writing, in the same interview and we have often seen glimpses of junior Khan's BTS talents on social media, be it with his conceptualisation and developer skills or strumming the guitar.
A few days ago, Gauri Khan and Aryan Khan had headed to the US amidst the second wave of the pandemic and were trolled brutally for travelling in such a situation. But looks like the mother-son duo had travelled to the US for his graduation ceremony. Though Aryan graduated from the Class of 2020 attaining the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts, Cinematic Arts, Film and Television production School of Cinematic Arts, the graduation ceremony was cancelled due to the pandemic last year and it was this year, that the university had held the function, keeping the social distancing norms in mind. The stand-up and writer, Karan Menon, on his IG stories, posted a picture of Aryan, sporting his graduation robe. With his slicked-back hair and charm like Shah Rukh, Aryan held his graduation degree from the University of Southern California in his hands.
Though Aryan Khan has his own sense of style, which is extremely millennial, its core seems to be an extension of his father, Shah Rukh Khan's charm. February 18, 2021, had brought in another proud moment for Shah Rukh as his son, Aryan filled in for him at the Indian Premier League 2021 auction. The co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders, Juhi Chawla had posted a picture of Aryan and her daughter, Jahnavi Mehta from the auctions and the proud mother had captioned her post as "So happy to see both the KKR kids, Aryan and Jahnavi at the Auction table @iamsrk @KKRiders." However, it was a video of Aryan, which captured his mannerisms and it had reminded everyone of Shah Rukh.
In a throwback interview with Femina, Shah Rukh Khan had spoken about how his two sons, Aryan Khan and AbRam Khan are taught to treat everyone as equals and the elder one isn't allowed to roam shirtless in the home. Shah Rukh had said, "I'm bringing up my sons to treat all as equals; as boys, they will have no extra privileges over girls. Sometimes I'm a bit conservative. I believe that a man in his house doesn’t have the right to go shirtless in front of his mother, sister or women friends. I tell Aryan to put on a T-shirt all the time." Revealing the reason behind it, Shah Rukh continued, "Okay, but how would Aryan feel if his sister Suhana came out without a T-shirt? If you'd feel uncomfortable seeing your mother, daughter, sister, women friends without their clothes on, why would you expect them to accept you shirtless? It's got nothing to do with having breasts or not—don't do something a girl can't do."
It was on November 12, 2020, when Aryan Khan had turned 23 and his lovely family had posted pictures on their IG handles to wish him. Suhana Khan had posted a throwback picture from Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday celebration in Dubai to wish her 'bestie', Aryan. Posting a lovely picture with Aryan on her IG stories, Suhana had written, "Happy Birthday to my bestie. Jk eww xxx" atop it. After Suhana, Gauri Khan had showered love on the birthday boy by posting a picture of Aryan, chilling and posing with his partners-in-crime, Suhana and AbRam Khan. Gauri had captioned her post as "Birthday boy."
Heartiest congratulations to Aryan on his graduation!
