Arjun Rampal is one of the handsome actors of his time. The actor has worked on a number of films and will be next seen in the period war film, The Battle of Bhima Koregaon. He also has Abbas-Mustan's heist thriller, 3 Monkeys, in his pipeline. Ahead of that, he made history by becoming the first Indian celebrity to raise USD 1.5 million for CRY America. However, as soon as the news started surfacing on social media, netizens started hugely criticising the actor for the same.

Bollywood actor, Arjun Rampal turned out to be a social worker and made history by becoming the first Indian celebrity to raise USD 1.5 million for CRY America. This non-profit organisation dedicatedly works towards ensuring every child’s right to a happy, healthy, and educated life. Upon converting the amount in Indian currency, it stands at Rs. 12.5 crore. He impressed his fans by taking such a big initiative to draw this huge amount of money from high-net-worth individuals and generous donors for underprivileged kids across a few places in the USA.

The President of CRY America, Shefali Sunderlal also expressed her and her entire NGO family's gratefulness to Arjun Rampal for his advocacy for underprivileged kids. Shefali mentioned how the Indian actor played a pivotal role in the fundraising moment. She said,

“We are so grateful to Arjun Rampal for being our Celebrity Guest for our 5 CRY Gala events across the USA in April 2024. His perseverance and charisma played a pivotal role in raising a whopping 1.5 million USD for children's rights. We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Arjun for his dedication and outstanding contribution for uplifting our mission for children, especially in our 20th year. Arjun will be remembered as a beloved child rights champion by our donors, volunteers, staff and the thousands of children that will benefit from his unwavering support."

Soon after the news of Arjun Rampal's initiative towards CRY America surfaced on social media, his fans started praising him for his good deeds. A section of society was extremely pleased that the actor did something for a good cause and outside his film industry. However, another section of the social media users was unhappy that Arjun worked for CRY America and penned mean comments. One user commented, "Nothing in india......but all the way to America."

The non-profict organisation, CRY America, now known as CRY, Child Rights and You America Inc, (the slightly changed named) was founded in the USA in November 2002. As per the information given on CRY America's website, it is affiliated with another such organisation in India named Child Rights and You. It works towards restoring basic rights to underprivileged children, especially Indians. CRY America is a registered organisation and all donations to it are tax deductible. CRY America also utilises the grant management services of CRY India to ensure that the grants released to the latter nation's projects are optimally utilised.
