And since then, not only has he made it to the headlines for professional reasons, but also for personal reasons. In 2016, when Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan announced their separation, Arjun was believed to be one of the major reasons behind it. Even though no official statement came from the couple regarding the reason behind their divorce, Arjun and Malaika’s brewing proximity became the headlines after her separation with Arbaaz.
Lakme Fashion Week is one of the most talked about fashion events of the year and every time B-town rocks the ramp like never before. As Varun Dhawan walked the LFW ramp, Malaika and Arjun (who were sitting next to each other) cheered for him. The alleged lovebirds were busy chatting and were all smiles at the show. Even Arjun’s half-sisters, Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor were sitting with him. Despite media and paparazzi, Arjun and Malaika looked content with each other and it seems like, the rumoured much-in-love couple have finally decided to go official with their relationship.
After being secretive about their relationship and refuting all such speculations, Arjun and Malaika chose to sit together at the event. In an earlier interview, Malaika talked about Arjun and said, "Arjun is a very good friend of mine. But people give a very different meaning to it, which isn't true." Arjun was also dating Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan and their relationship lasted for 2 years. He confessed to the Times Of India that his "first and only serious relationship so far" has been with Arpita.
Salman Khan has been a mentor to Arjun and talking about how nervous he was while telling the Dabangg Khan about his relationship, the Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar actor shared, "I was scared of Salman bhai and went and told him and the entire family as I wanted them to know from me first. They were very kind about it. He was taken aback, but he respects people and relationships. In fact, he was partial in that relationship where he would always take my side." And it was Salman to whom Arjun turned to after his breakup, "I was 140 kgs, was assisting Nikhil Advani in Salaam-E-Ishq and had a girlfriend, would party and felt my life was headed in the right direction and felt sorted and thought that I would direct my film by 22, till she broke up with me and suddenly I was confused about what my future held for me. Even after breaking up, I would hang out with him. He was my friend, my father-figure, older brother, everything at that point. He was an older brother I never had and he made me realise how important it is to have an older brother."
As per SpotboyE reports, Arjun was also warned about the consequences by his dad, Boney Kapoor for his relationship with Malaika. Boney asked Arjun to maintain distance from Malaika, else his career might get affected if he gets on the wrong side of Khan family, especially Salman. As per a source, "Salman has been informed about Arjun's concern, but it's not known yet if the former will reciprocate the gesture. Salman Khan isn't telling anybody not to work with Arjun Kapoor.
