Bollywood actress, Dia Mirza tied the knot with her businessman-husband, Vaibhav Rekhi, on February 15, 2021. The couple is proud parents to two kids, Avyaan Azaad Rekhi and Samaira Rekhi. For the unversed, Samaira is Vaibhav's daughter from his first marriage with Sunaina Rekhi. Back in the early 2000s, Dia Mirza was reportedly dating filmmaker, Apoorva Lakhia, but they never made it official. However, the duo was often spotted holding hands in public and also attended events together.
In an interview with Siddharth Kanan, Dia Mirza’s ex-boyfriend and filmmaker, Apoorva Lakhia opened up about his bonding with the actress and revealed that they both have always remained good friends. Talking about their past relationship, he mentioned that they never had a fight or anything. When the host asked Apoorva if he was still in touch with Dia, he shared:
“Of course, she’s a really good friend of mine. Meri bahut achhi dost hai, I am a big fan of hers. She’s a really good friend of mine and hamare saath aisa kuch hua hi nahi kabhi. We never had a fight or anything, it’s just that people go different ways.”

Further, the host asked Apoorva if there was a heartbreak, and the latter replied with a 'No'. Sharing the details, the filmmaker stated that Dia came into his life when he was going through a difficult phase, and she supported him despite being a big star. However, Apoorva thanked Dia for her decision to be with a flop director and said:
“Not at all. She was very good to me, she supported me, and she came into my life when Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost had tanked, and she was a big star. So, hats off to her yaar, she decided to be with a flop [director].
In the same interview, Apoorva also shared that he hasn’t met Dia's husband, Vaibhav Rekhi yet, but he often meets the actress' mom. Talking bout his bond with Dia, the filmmaker revealed that she wished him when the promo of his film, Crackdown was released and added:
“I haven’t met her husband yet. But yeah, whenever I meet her mom, we meet very nicely. When Crackdown’s promo released, Dia wished me. So, you know friendships are very important because in this industry a lot of things work with goodwill. Friendship se bahut saari cheezein chal jaati hai.”

For her intimate wedding, Dia Mirza opted for a traditional red Banarasi saree with intricate details embroidered all over it and styled it with a matching half-sleeved blouse. The actress complemented her look with precious stone jewellery, including an ornate necklace, statement earrings, a maang teeka and bangles. With her hair held up in a neat updo, a sheer red veil with zari embroidery rounded up her bridal look. On the other hand, Vaibhav donned a white-hued kurta-pyjama with a matching Nehru jacket.
