'A dog is man's best friend.' – This line holds true for Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, just like in the heart of every pet lover because they are not pets to them, but are considered as family. Anushka and Virat often share their adorable moments of cuddling and kissing their furry cutie, Dude and the tales of their little baby. The love Virushka share with Dude is pure and unconditional. With a new addition in Virat and Anushka's family, we can't wait to see their little angel, Vamika bonding with their 'sweet-smoosh-doggo', Dude.
To mark World Stray Animals Day 2021, Virat Kohli had taken a step towards animal welfare as his foundation collaborated with an NGO and another healthcare company to set up animal welfare shelters for strays in Mumbai. Crediting Anushka Sharma for inspiring him, Virat had tweeted, "To ensure health & support to stray animals, @vkfofficial has now taken its first step towards animal welfare in collaboration with Vivaldis. I want to thank my wife @AnushkaSharma for inspiring me by her passion towards animals & for being a constant advocate for animal rights." Virat had announced the same on his Instagram as well and his inspiration, Anushka had commented with an array of heart emojis on his post.
Anushka Sharma posted a video, comprising of her and Virat Kohli's special and priceless moments with their pet dog, Dude and other stray pups. From feeding and petting them to their goofy shenanigans, Anushka and Virat's 2020 was indeed a special one with their furry friends. Anushka captioned the video as "Some special, priceless moments from last year." The video is proof of their love for dogs and how it makes for a special moment, whenever they spend time with their furry friends.
While Anushka Sharma posted a video montage of her and Virat Kohli's special moments with their furry friends in 2020, the year was also a tough one for them as they lost their pet beagle, Bruno. To mourn the demise of Bruno, Virat posted a picture of his 'naughty little dynamite' of eleven years and captioned it as "Rest in peace my Bruno. Graced our lives with love for 11 years but made a connection of a lifetime. Gone to a better place today. God bless his soul with peace." In her farewell post, Anushka had posted a selfie with Virat and Bruno and had written, "Bruno RIP."
When Anushka Sharma posed for the Vogue's cover in December 2020, in their interview, she had spoken about directing a lot of her energy in preparing the animal-themed nursery and setting up the home for her then-to-be born baby. A self-confessed planner, Anushka had said, "I just want to be prepared. Everything is slower because of the times we are living in and I don’t like to rush things. This time in my life, even more so. I want the nursery to be very calm. It’s the place where you spend the most amount of time, where you are bonding with your baby, so it has to be peaceful."
Much like Anushka Sharma’s approach to life and parenthood, the theme of the nursery is one that is deeply thoughtful, reflecting important facets of her and Virat Kohli’s world. Anushka had said, "I don't believe that boys have to wear blue and girls pink. The nursery has all colours. Both Virat and I love animals and we want our baby to have that bond too. They are a big part of our lives and we really believe they can teach kindness and compassion to children."
Anushka and Virat are indeed an inspiration in the truest sense for being the voice for the voiceless!
