Having worked in over 500 movies in a career that has spanned close to three decades, Anupam Kher has again proved his acting mettle with his incredible performance in the movie, The Kashmir Files. As per the reports, the film has already earned Rs. 236 crore at the domestic box office. Now, the actor shared a video proof revealing that pandits and priests have been visiting his house every third or fourth day to bless him. Anupam also shared the last picture with his father, Pushkar Nath and revealed why The Kashmir Files is a very personal project to him.

For the uninitiated, the film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi and a few others, and is based on the genocide of Kashmiri pandits in 1990. However, Anupam Kher, himself being a Kashmiri pandit, has shown his pain and emotions attached to the historical event, very well through his acting in this movie.

He had also shared the poster of the film after it had made a gross collection of Rs. 200 crores at the box office and had mentioned his gratitude to everyone attached to its success. However, what had caught our attention in the long note was Anupam mentioning his attachment to the film's story as being a son of a Kashmiri pandit. He had shared that his character 'Pushkar Nath' is named after his late father, Pushkar Nath and the film is a tribute to him and to all other victims of the horrible incident in history. Sharing the picture, Anupam had penned:

"From #Saaransh to #TheKashmirFiles; Once upon a time there was a #KashmiriPandit boy called #Bittu. His father was a clerk whose name was #PushkarNath. Bittu worked very hard and became an actor called #AnupamKher. He continued to work hard and in 38 years did #522 films. Then came along a film called #TheKashmirFiles about the genocide of #KashmiriPandits. He was given the lead role in it. He gave this film literally his blood and soul and decided to name the character #PushkarNath as a tribute to his father and lakhs of other #Kashmiris who were the victims of horrible & senseless violence of terrorists."
