While Anupam Kher ruled the big screens, his younger brother, Raju Kher charmed us on the television. Inspiration to every aspiring actor, the Kher brothers are exemplars of brotherly love and their respective Instagram handles are proof of the same. In July 2020, when the Kher family including Raju, his mother, Dulari Kher, his wife and his daughter were tested positive with the novel virus, it was Anupam, who had given the updates on their health to their fans and was a pillar of strength for his family. Anupam had also urged everyone to maintain social distancing and follow the guidelines strictly.
On September 11, 2020, Raju Kher turned 63 and to mark the special day, his brother, Anupam Kher and daughter, Vrinda Kher penned heartfelt birthday wishes for the actor on their respective social media handles. Anupam took a trip down the memory lane to dig some cherishable memories with his brother to wish him on his birthday. Anupam posted a throwback black-and-white picture with their parents, a latest one with their mother in the frame, a goofy Boomerang and a glimpse of their sibling rivalry. Raju Kher’s daughter, Vrinda Kher posted some beautiful memories with her father to wish him on his birthday. Expressing her love for him, Vrinda captioned the pictures as “Happy Happy Birthday to my teddy bear. Love you pops. @rajukherofficial.” Vrinda is a dance enthusiast and a budding blogger, so to mark her main man’s birthday, Vrinda posted an IG story, wherein the star father can be seeing copying the dance steps from his daughter as they both groove in front of the mirror. On May 4, 2020, Anupam Kher had posted a meme featuring him and his brother, Raju Kher and had joked about how Sunday and Monday look similar during the lockdown. Putting his creativity to the best, Anupam had explained how one can turn tragedy into humour someday, "That is how Sundays n Mondays look like these days! Kudos to the person who made this meme of me my brother @rajukherofficial. Loved the creativity and humour. Jai Ho!Trivia; This pic was shot at the #PrayerCeremony of our Father's passing away, 8yrs back. You See- Tragedy can turn into humour someday. One has to just wait. At the launch of Navrangi Re, Raju Kher, in an interview with The Indian Express, had revealed if his brother, Anupam Kher's successful career ever came in his way, "He is my Ram and I am Lakshman. The one per cent that I can act is because I have seen him work. Maybe unintentionally, but it has all come from him. I never aspired to be an actor. I owned a media company with a friend. The first time I acted was for our show Imtihaan. The rest just followed seamlessly. I remember the first time I had to face the camera, Anupam sent me a bouquet with a note that read, ‘Don’t act, just do it from your heart.’ I don’t know what I made out of it then, but that stayed with me."
How Anupam Kher is like a friend to him and the teachings they have imbibed from their father, Raju Kher had remarked, "We are friends. Actually, even our father was a friend to us. We come from a family that believes in giving happiness. They have taught us to live life to the fullest. My father used to always tell us that don’t waste your today thinking about tomorrow."
