Anupam Kher and Raju Kher too, are spending their time together with their mother, Dulari Kher in Mumbai. On May 4, 2020, Anupam had posted a meme featuring him and his brother, Raju and had joked about how Sunday and Monday look similar during the lockdown. Putting his creativity to the best, Anupam had explained how one can turn tragedy into humour someday, "That is how Sundays n Mondays look like these days! The lockdown diaries with the Khers continue as Anupam Kher posted a video with his mother, Dulari Kher and brother, Raju Kher. Dancing to the trending tune of Irene Pearson 12's LAXED (Siren Beat), Anupam captioned the video as "Ladies and Gentlemen! Presenting THE ‘MOTHER’ OF ALL DANCES !! Our dancing skill sucks. Irrespective of how old we are, being a reason behind our parents' smile is a moment of joy and pride for every child which he/she won't replace with anything else in the world. Anupam Kher has always been vocal about the struggles of his family as Kashmiri Pandit and in 2018, sticking to his roots, the Kher family had shifted to their home in Shimla. Anupam had given a glimpse of how his mother, Dulari Kher's happiness knew no bounds when her son bought a house for her. Anupam Kher had spent his childhood in Shimla and when he had finally bought a home as a present to his mother, Dulari Kher, he had proudly announced it on Twitter. Sharing the news, Anupam had written, “We Indians want to have our own home in a place where we grew up. Happy to share, we have our first-ever home in Shimla. Presented it to mom. My father was a clerk in the Forest Department here. All our life, we have lived in government quarters and rented houses and due to some reasons I could not buy a property here. Today I’ve come to Shimla. I’ve bought a small house here which I want to gift to my mother and she is really happy. Teary-eyed, she said it was the most beautiful thing. I wish my dad was here.â€Â
At the launch of Navrangi Re, Raju Kher, in an interview with The Indian Express, had revealed if his brother, Anupam Kher's successful career ever came in his way, "He is my Ram and I am Lakshman. The one per cent that I can act is because I have seen him work. Maybe unintentionally, but it has all come from him. I never aspired to be an actor. I owned a media company with a friend. The first time I acted was for our show Imtihaan. The rest just followed seamlessly. I remember the first time I had to face the camera, Anupam sent me a bouquet with a note that read, “Don’t act, just do it from your heart.†I don’t know what I made out of it then, but that stayed with me."
How Anupam Kher is like a friend to him and the teachings they have imbibed from their father, Raju Kher had remarked, "We are friends. Actually, even our father was a friend to us. We come from a family that believes in giving happiness. They have taught us to live life to the fullest.
