The COVID-19 outbreak has ruined many couples plan of turning into 'Mister and Missus'. But looks like the coronavirus itself cannot keep them away from each other. While the pandemic has turned the big fat Indian weddings into a small affair with only 50 people, couples are happily fixing their wedding dates amidst it. Just a few days back, Sasural Simar Ka fame Manish Raisinghan had revealed the news of getting married with the love of his life. And now, television actor, Ankit Shah is all set to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend, Aashima Nair. Last year, on August 15, 2019, Ankit had exchanged the rings with the love of his life and had shared the picture of the same on his Instagram story. He had looked dapper in a traditional beige sherwani while Aashima had donned a maroon off-shoulder lehenga. The adorable couple had met each other during Ganesh Chaturthi celebration where they used to stay. And their chance meeting turned into an affair.
Now, Ankit Shah and Aashima Nair are al set to tie the knot on June 30, 2020, in Mumbai. Earlier, the couple was supposed to have a grand wedding on June 11, 2020, but the lockdown has ruined their plans and they had to postpone it. In an interview with The Times of India, the actor said, "The wedding was supposed to be a grand event for both the families. We could have postponed it, but the next date available was in November or December. Given the unpredictability of the times we live in, we decided to get married on June 30. We had originally planned to invite 500 guests. However, we have now reduced it to 50 people, following the new guidelines. We will perform two rituals at my home, for which I am still in talks with my housing society members. It will be followed by saat phere at the Arya Samaj mandir. We will make sure that every guest goes for a medical check-up a day before the wedding." The actor further shared all the precautions they are taking to stay safe from the coronavirus. Ankit revealed that guests below the age of 10 and above 55 years aren’t allowed at the wedding. They have also sent out digital invites with a request to ‘please wear a mask and follow social distancing’. They will also have a designated person to offer masks and gloves and to sanitise everyone’s hands at regular intervals at the venue. And the person will also check everyone’s body temperature before they enter the banquet. He further added that they are going to order packed thalis from a restaurant. Ankit also shared that he and his fiancee, Aashima and will wear masks that are colour coordinated with their wedding attire.
Earlier, in an interview with the Bombay Times, Ankit had opened up about his love story, and had shared, "I met Aashima a year ago during Ganesh Chaturthi. We stay in the same building and bumped into each other a few days after she moved to Mumbai from Delhi. We felt the urge to talk to each other, but could only stare at each other for the next two months. However, we finally spoke, exchanged numbers and started following each other on social media.
