February witnessed the first celebrity Band Baaja Baaraat of 2020 and it was nothing less than extravagant. No, it wasn’t Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt (though we wish it was them), but his cousin, Armaan Jain. #AnissaMaanGayi was all over our social media timelines, and we still can’t get over how made-for-each-other Armaan and his bride, Anissa Malhotra had looked on their wedding day. On February 3, 2020, ‘Heeriye Sehera Baandh Ke Main Toh Aaya Re, Doli Baaraat Bhi Saath Me Main Toh Laaya Re’ moment came into Armaan Jain’s life as he got hitched to his childhood sweetheart, Anissa Malhotra at The St. Regis, Mumbai. But do you know who played the Cupid for Armaan and Anissa? It was none other than his brother and her college-mate, Aadar Jain. Anissa interacted with her fans through an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Instagram and answered a zillion of questions asked by her followers.
While everyone wanted to know how Anissa Malhotra had met the man of her dreams, Armaan Jain, she revealed that when the Lekar Hum Deewana Dil debutant used to visit his brother, Aadar Jain, who is a close friend of hers, in New York, they used to hang-out together. When asked, “Did you and Aadar studied together in NY?”, Anissa replied, “Yes we did! Different colleges but same city. We became really friendly.” Anissa also revealed that she and Armaan had dated for 8 years.
Just like we have always been in awe of Armaan Jain’s beautiful mom, Rima Jain, her daughter-in-law, Anissa Malhotra is also swooned by the beauty of her mother-in-law. When a fan complimented how beautiful her mother-in-law is, Anissa agreed, “Yes she is!!” Revealing the best thing about getting married, Anissa remarked, “Roomies for life.” When asked if anything changed after marriage, Anissa replied, “Everything became even better.”
Anissa Malhotra had opted for a Sabyasachi lehenga for her wedding and Manish Malhotra ensemble for her sangeet. Anissa had skipped our heartbeat for a moment with her first look as a bride in a traditional red and golden lehenga. Anissa had accentuated her lehenga with a large layered golden rani haar with a gold and diamond choker, matching maang teeka and jhumkas. And for her sangeet, Anissa had looked stunning in a heavily embellished silver lehenga, which she had topped off with a choker and matching earrings along with a sparkling tiara and red chooda. Recalling her favourite moment from the wedding, Anissa Malhotra reminisced, “We are blessed that our whole wedding was made of special moments. But the varmala in particular was super special because it’s the first moment we saw each other as future husband and wife. And, our friends made it so much fun by lifting us up to put garlands on each other.” Revealing why they had their sangeet after the wedding, Anissa shared, “This was something I was really keen on from the start. Once the wedding is over, everyone is usually more stress free, making the sangeet more enjoyable! It was the BEST decision we made.”
In a pre-wedding interview with the Hello! India, Anissa Malhotra had spilt some beans on her relationship with her then soon-to-be mother-in-law, Rima Jain, Anissa had remarked, “Armaan’s mom is full of love. I’ve never met anyone who just envelops people with her warmth. During our wedding meetings, she has these crazy one liners that are insane. It has everyone in splits.”
To welcome his wife, Anissa Malhotra in the family and expressing his excitement to begin their journey as Mr and Mrs Jain, Armaan Jain had written with their official wedding picture, “Finally #anissamaangayi!
