While Janhvi posted a heartwarming picture with her superstar mommy from her childhood, the Kapoor family has time and again shared how badly Sridevi is missed. On June 2, 2018, Sridevi and her hubby Boney Kapoor would have completed their 22nd anniversary. Sharing a beautiful video of some important moments of Sridevi, he captioned the video with an even beautiful caption which said, “Today would have been our 22nd wedding anniversary Jaan My wife, my soulmate, the epitome of love, grace, warmth and laughter lives within me forever”. Apart from Sridevi’s immediate family, do you know who misses her the most? Her devar and devraani, Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor. In an interview with SpotboyE, Anil shared how much he and Sunita misses Sridevi. He shared, “Sunita and Sridevi had a great bond. She really really misses her a lot. They would often speak to each other, Sunita looked up to Sridevi, a lot, a lot. As a matter of fact, the day Sri passed away, Sunita spoke to her twice. Of course, she misses her a lot. And I have worked with her, she was not only a great co-star. We have done some wonderful films together which will remain memorable. We shared a great friendship, she was a part of the family, she was a family member, she was a friend also”. On the eve of her birthday, Sunita Kapoor shared a beautiful picture of herself with Sridevi, where she captioned the picture with a lot of hearts. Here’s the image:
At IIFA 2018, Sridevi was awarded the ‘Best Actress’ award for her performance in the crime-thriller, Mom. Upon receiving the award, tears of melancholy and pride rolled down Boney Kapoor's cheeks, who had received the award. At the stage, he said with tears in his eyes, “I miss her every moment of my life”. His son Arjun Kapoor and brother Anil Kapoor, immediately rushed to the stage to comfort Boney. Anil held the mike and said, “She was a true genius. The country, the world and our family misses you.”
At an interview with Vogue magazine, Karan Johar had asked Janhvi Kapoor if she feels any void and the last words said by her mom, Sridevi to her before she left for Dubai, where she breathed her last. To which Janhvi replied, “Of course. I could always be the baby with her. When I’d wake up, the first thing I’d do was ask for her. I’d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me. The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn’t sleep, so I was like, “I need you to come and put me to sleep.” But she was packing, so by the time she came to me I was half asleep. But I could feel her patting my head".
This is a void that will always remain in the Kapoors’ heart, but it’s good to note that the entire family has stood by each other like a strong pillar, amidst times of turmoil and have further gotten closer with each other. We wish the family loads of happiness and strength.
