Amrita had reportedly known Shakeel Ladak for quite a long time as he was her friend, Nisha Rana’s husband. After his divorce with Nisha, he and Amrita had rekindled their friendship and had officiated their relationship in 2008. Amrita and Shakeel had tied the knot in two rituals. She had a Christian wedding in the morning followed by a nikaah in the afternoon. The doting couple had entered parenthood and had welcomed their son in March 2010, whom they had named Azaan. The duo had embraced parenthood for the second time in October 2012, when they had become proud parents to their second baby boy, Rayaan.
On March 16, 2021, Amrita Arora took to her IG handle and penned a lovely birthday wish for her hubby, Shakeel. Amrita shared an adorable picture of Shakeel with her and her sister, Malaika, where the two ladies were seen giving a peck to him. Along with the picture, she wrote, “Happy birthday to my best half, we celebrate you today and everyday @shaklad.” Amrita also shared some unseen throwback pictures of Shakeel on her IG stories.
Last year, on March 16, 2020, Amrita had taken to her IG handle and had shared an adorable picture with him. Along with the picture, Amrita had penned down a heart-melting birthday wish, which could be read as “Happpy birthday my main man @shaklad. It’s been 12 years since Amrita Arora and Shakeel Ladak were pronounced husband and wife, and to mark their wedding anniversary, the couple had posted lovely wishes for each other on social media. Amrita had posted a throwback family picture with Shakeel and their kids, and had captioned it as “Happy 12 my baby daddy, Lover, Best friend , security blankie, Husband, Handsome Homie ... you n me n me n you @shaklad.” Shakeel had posted a twinning-in-black picture with his wife, and had captioned it as “Happy 12th Anniversary Dear AMU.”
In a throwback interview with the IANS, Amrita Arora had spoken about the moment when she felt Shakeel Ladak is the one for her. She was quoted as saying, "The minute I set my eyes on Shakeel I knew he was the man I wanted to marry. It's like a karmic connection. I just felt it. I had never felt this before. Shakeel is everything that I want my husband to be. And I'm determined to make our marriage work. I'll do whatever it takes." Speaking about the exchange of wedding vows, Amrita had said, "We were supposed to have a church wedding but there were some security hassles so we quickly moved the venue to Olive.
