One of the most successful and influential actors of his generation, Amitabh Bachchan is the son of the iconic Hindi poet, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and his activist wife, Teji Bachchan. Besides making an illustrious career in the field of acting, Amitabh has also shown drool-worthy work in producing films, being a TV host, and many other matters. Currently, he is hosting the popular reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, and during the course of the program, he has been revealing anecdotes about his personal life. Once again, he opened up about what his name would have been if not for the current one.
In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, Amitabh Bachchan was asked about his name by one of the contestants, Nipun Rajan. To this, Big B revealed that his parents and relatives were about to name him 'Inquilab'. This was because he was born during the ‘Quit India Movement’. However, afterwards, a famous poet of that era visited Bachchan's house and had named him 'Amitabh'.

Well, this is not the first time when Amitabh Bachchan revealed anecdotes about his life on the sets of the reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati 14. Earlier, in one of the episodes, he was quizzed by a contestant, Vaibhavi Padodara, a mathematics teacher from Surat, Gujarat, about his command on mathematics. Talking about the same, Amitabh had recalled his childhood days and revealed that when he was a kid, his father, Harivansh used to take him for morning walks. In addition, the doting son revealed how the renowned poet used to ask him often to repeat multiplication tables for practice. In this way, he used to memorise the tables.
Amitabh Bachchan was immensely close to his father, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and a proof of the same is still found in his actions. For instance, on November 28, 2022, Amitabh had taken to his blog and talked about a bench which is made in the shape of his father, Harivansh's book, Madhushala. Amitabh wrote in his blog that the bench is placed in Wroclaw, Poland, which has been declared a Heritage City by UNESCO, and their universities have an entire section for studying the language of Hindi and its literary works. However, what caught our attention was when Amitabh penned that a similar kind of bench is installed on the lawns of their house, Jalsa. Not only his father, but Amitabh was also his mother, Teji Bachchan's apple of the eye, and he never shies away from talking about the priceless memories with her. In one of the episodes of KBC 14, Amitabh had once recalled some of his fondest memories with his late mother, Teji and admitted her absence in his life. Talking about the same, the legendary actor mentioned that he misses her every single day of his life and that Teji was his topmost priority in his family. He had also shared how he used to spend time and create memories with her whenever he used to get a chance.
