Born on April 09, 1948, Jaya Bhaduri (Jaya Bachchan post marriage) turned 70 today! The actress-turned-politician, known for amazing roles in films like Guddi, Abhimaan, Silsila, Milli, among various others, celebrated her 70th birthday bash with close friends and family members today.
However, what attracted the fans and netizens the most was her hubby, Amitabh Bachchan’s birthday wish for her. Amitabh took to his Tumblr blog and shared a heart-warming picture of his beautiful wife, and his two amazing children- Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Nanda Bachchan. Beyond this picture, what would surely melt your heart is Amitabh’s message! He wrote, “At the stroke of the midnight hour the greetings and wishes and calls and the feeding of sweetmeats ; the gifting of love and togetherness and the welcoming of the lady on her 70th !! She be wife and Mother and she be with her ‘progress report’”

Isn’t the sweetest message any wife could expect from her husband on her birthday? For those who do not know, Amitabh and Jaya first met on the sets of Guddi. Jaya once recalled, “I was introduced to him on the sets of Guddi. I was impressed by him and somewhat in awe as he was Harivanshrai Bachchan’s son. Amitabh regularly posts pictures with her life partner on social media. Recently, he posted a similar picture of the two and captioned it, “The daughter clicks the parents as they prepare to set off for the French ballet performance!”
Even after 42 years of their marriage, Amitabh never shies away from expressing his love for Jaya and recently when he was asked to comment on the same, he said, “After 42 years it all seems so very close and immediate. The decision to be together. The hurried simple preparations.. the ceremony in Bengali tradition. The gentle drops of rain that began to fall just before.. and finally after it was all over, the entrance of the bride into our home and the departure soon after to London with some dear friends for a honeymoon.”
