There is no number that we can put to love. Lucky ones fall in love once and get to spend an eternity with them and others have to go through bitter experiences to finally get to 'their one'. But luckier are the ones who feel that leaving a relationship is not the only option. They give it a second thought when the leaves of the love-plant wither away and water it to make it go all green again! And one of the well-known faces of the telly world, Amit Tandon, did exactly the same and saved his dying relationship. Amit Tandon and his dermatologist-wife, Ruby had started to stay separately until a storm befell them. Way back in 2017, Ruby was held at the Al Raffa jail after Dubai Health Authority had filed a complaint against her for threatening some government officials in the same year. After coming back from serving her 10-month jail term in January, Amit and Ruby were heading towards reconciliation and had once again started living together as a family (they had then decide that their relationship would be nothing more than friends). In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Amit had spoken about the trying times that the family had faced when Ruby was in jail and how their daughter, Jiyana used to cry every night thinking about her mother.
But bidding adieu to all tears and unhappiness, the good news is that Amit Tandon and Ruby have decided to reconcile by cancelling their divorce proceedings and live together as husband and wife! A latest SpotboyE report confirmed the news, with an all-elated Amit saying, “We are now living as a couple, ek baar phir. We are living very much as husband and wife." Revealing that they have cancelled their divorce proceedings, Amit further added, “We realised that we are better together as one unit rather than apart as two. We are also doing better in our respective work. My new song is coming up on Monday. Ruby is setting up a new place and will be back in full flow, soon.”
Needless to say, it must be their daughter, Jiyana who is the happiest at her parents' decision. Confirming the same, Amit Tandon said to the portal, “Yes, our daughter is very happy. It's all about happiness and peace at the end of the day, it's all about realising mistakes." Recalling a sorrowful incident, Amit said, “Can't forget the day when Jiyana didn't know where her mother is (Amit is referring to the period when Ruby was in jail in Dubai). Amit Tandon and Ruby tried hard to reconcile their differences and mend things between them. And see what happens when you want things from the heart! The Tandon family is one whole entity, once again! He stated in the same interview, “A lot of parents are applying for a divorce, but we don't subscribe to that school of thought which says 'it's okay to part ways if you have differences with your partner'. We believed in saving the situation, we tried and we have succeeded." Amit and Ruby have cut down on people who they thought weren’t serving them any good, “Also, we have let go off all the negative people and energy around us. We are in good space. Jiyana is also doing well. So, our circle has definitely become smaller. But at least we are not surrounded anymore by fake people."
Post being happily married for over 8 years, Amit Tandon and his wife, Ruby’s lovelife had hit rock bottom in 2017. After remaining mum about the same for quite a while, Amit had then opened up about his separation with TellyChakkar where he was quoted as saying, “Yes, it’s true. Ruby and I have parted ways. We have already filed for divorce and the final verdict will be delivered in the month of October. We got joint custody of our daughter. Half a month she stays with Ruby and half a month with me.”
About a possible reoncialtion, Amit Tandon had shared in an interview, “The difficult time helped put things into perspective. There were a lot of upheavals in my life and it was difficult to explain to my daughter, Jiyana, who is seven, what was happening. In a way, I felt guilty about the situation she had to face. I still remember her crying through the night when Ruby was away. We suffered serious financial losses, but all this has only made us stronger. The legal system in Dubai is not easy to work around. Amit Tandon had further added, “There were news items with certain people claiming that they were looking after my daughter at the time, which isn’t true. In fact, those who I thought were our backbone, our family, turned their backs on us. To me, they are the snakes. Fortunately, we received support from unexpected places.” Joining the incomplete places of the jigsaw puzzle is what the family is doing these days, “Ruby is slowly getting back to work. She has unbelievable strength, I would have gone mad if I was in her place. Our relationship is still work in progress, but we are friends again, at least we know we can depend on each other. We are living together as a family and I’m glad I get to see my daughter every day.”
