It was in February 1989 when Alka Yagnik had tied the knot with Neeraj Kapoor, and in the same year, they were blessed with a beautiful angel, whom they named Syesha Kapoor. Given their work commitments, Alka stays in Mumbai with her daughter, Syesha and her husband, Neeraj lives in Shillong. And it was just last year in 2018, when Syesha had embarked on her journey of ‘happily ever after’ and had taken saat pheras with her fiancé, Amit Desai.
On December 6, 2019, Syesha Kapoor turned 30 and this year’s birthday is a special one for her as it is the first after her wedding with Amit Desai. Syesha celebrated her big day with her closed ones including mother, Alka Yagnik and husband, Amit, and sharing a glimpse of the same, captioned a birthday special picture as “Lifelines!” Alka too, took to her Instagram to wish her daughter and wrote, “My best moment in life... when I saw my Lil angel for the first time...and she became my world... It was in 2017 when Syesha Kapoor had gotten engaged to her beau, Amit Desai. Sharing pictures from her engagement ceremony with her fiancé, Syesha had sweetly captioned them as “Now I can finally say, #mine! 25-12-2017.” Syesha’s then-would-be-hubby, Amit had also posted pictures with both their families on his Instagram account. And after one year of engagement, Syesha Kapoor and Amit Desai had tied the knot on December 12, 2018. While the bride had looked gorgeous in her red lehenga, dulhe raja had worn an ivory coloured sherwani. On December 11, 2018, the couple had hosted their haldi, mehendi and sangeet ceremonies. Earlier, Syesha Kapoor was reportedly dating Indian Idol fame, Rahul Vaidya but the latter dismissed the rumours and was quoted as saying by Mid-Day, "No truth. She is a very close friend to me and one of the nicest girls I have ever known. We meet up once in a while but no romance happening for sure.” When probed about their secret meetings, Rahul had stated, "So what? Friends don't hang out together?" Putting all rumours to rest, Rahul had clarified, “I am following a strict diet these days and since she is a restaurateur, she tells me how to go about it. That’s why we end up meeting often. I am not dating her.”
Alka Yagnik, who is in a long-distance relationship with husband, Neeraj Kapoor had shared how difficult it is to manage their marriage like this and the key which makes their relationship strong. She had said, “The basic bond was always there. I’ll not lie and say that I’ve never got attracted to people. But I didn’t get carried away. My values are strong. I also believe one’s dignity lies in one’s hands. I don’t believe in frivolous behaviour. Our marriage can be summed up in the U2 song ‘Can’t live with or without you’.
