Alia Bhatt is currently going through a tough time due to personal reasons. As per the latest report, a source close to the family revealed that Alia Bhatt’s grandfather and Soni Razdan’s father, Narendra Razdan, is hospitalised and critical. Moreover, given the recent developments in his health, Alia has even cancelled many of her upcoming international work trips.
Alia Bhatt’s grandfather, Narendra Razdan, has been battling a severe lung infection and has been admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. According to the latest reports, his health condition has worsened, leading to the Bhatt-Razdan family getting a distress call informing them that the patient has been shifted to the ICU. The source further mentioned to ETimes:
“He had a lung infection which got worse. In the morning the family got a distress call that the doctors wanted to shift him to the ICU. There was a decision taken not to take him to the ICU, but to make him comfortable within the room. He's 95 and as of now he's in the sunset hours.”

Alia Bhatt has been known to be quite close to his dearest grandfather. As soon as she learnt about his grandfather’s declining health, she immediately returned from the airport after cancelling her international work trip to attend an award function abroad. The report further suggested that Alia did not want to stay away from her family, especially her grandfather, in his most vulnerable time. The report stated:
“Alia turned back from the airport because she didn’t want to be there at the award function while her grandfather was going through a very vulnerable time.”
Alia Bhatt and her sister, Shaheen, have been extremely fond of their grandfather, Narendra Razdan. Proof of the same was found in 2021 when she rang in his 93rd birthday along with her family and in-laws, including her then-beau, Ranbir Kapoor and her to-be mother-in-law, Neetu Singh. The Kapoors and the Bhatts came together to celebrate the momentous day, and we got a glimpse of the same when Alia’s then-nanad-to-be, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni had, shared a coll picture while posing with Alia’s nana, Narendra.

Well, not just Alia, even her mommy, Soni Razdan, was enthusiastic about celebrating her father, Narendra Nath Razdan’s 93rd birthday. Taking to her social media handle, she had dropped an unseen picture of him and penned a heartwarming note. Her caption could be read as:
“Daddy has turned 93 years young today! The best story teller to children in the world... he used to make them up as he went along... and we even had a series called Neelam and Gagan... which he regaled my sis and me with in weekly instalments; a prolific badminton and snooker player in the olden days; a good bridge player and now an avid golfer (yes he still plays) apart from being an architect who still practices!"
