But looks like destiny had other plans for the couple and Alia Bhatt’s self-admitted crush, Ranbir Kapoor was roped in by Ayan Mukerji to work together in a mystical fantasy, Brahmastra. How Ranbir was made to be a part of the film is another story altogether, but the best part is the film set surely played Cupid for Ranbir and Alia. Both their families admire one another and we would often see them spending time with each other. It was on June 21, 2019, when shutterbugs had grabbed the most of the merry sight, Alia and Ranbir twinning in white as they headed off to spend some Kapoor time Rishi and Neetu in New York, where he is currently undergoing the last phase of his cancer treatment.
About Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s visit to New York for a Kapoor famjam, a source had shared with Filmfare, “They were with Rishi and Neetu for New Year celebrations as well. This time, Ranbir’s sister Riddhima is also there so it’s going to be a family reunion. RK and Alia will be returning to Mumbai in a few days to resume work on their film.” And just a while back, came about some ethereal pictures from a cosy family meet comprising of Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni and Samaira Kapoor. Apart from them, B-town diva, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with Abhishek Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan was also spotted at the cosy family get-together. Sharing the pictures, Neetu ji wrote, “Your family is your whole world. Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt were spotted on the ghats of Varanasi on the first week of June as they had spent some time there for their Brahmastra shoot. As per an India Today report, Alia had suffered from some physical ailments and her mini New York getaway would provide as a much-required break for this B-town diva. She shared, "I had an extreme intestinal infection before I left for the Varanasi schedule and since the shooting was very hectic and the heat was unbearable, things didn’t improve. Making my condition worse were the shooting schedules. We were shooting during the night-time and my body clock went for a toss. Now I’ve been asked to take it easy and to take break for a little while, let my condition settle to normal and then resume work." Alia had further added, “Leaving Mumbai is the only way I can get some rest. Coming back to Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s New York vacation, every opportunity that this duo culls out from their busy schedule makes them visit the superbly recovering Rishi Kapoor. It was on New Year 2019 when we got a glimpse of how deeply Alia is adored in the Kapoor household. Sharing a couple of pictures which had Alia Bhatt almost everywhere and hinting that Rishi Kapoor is suffering from cancer, Neetu Kapoor had written, “Happy 2019 no resolutions only wishes this year!!! Less pollution traffic!! Hope in future cancer is only a zodiac sign!!! No hatred less poverty loads of love togetherness happiness n most imp. Good health.”
Also, as per a Mumbai Mirror report, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are all set to buy a new love nest together in the New York City. As per the same report, the couple is also planning to make a ‘chic little studio’ their lover’s paradise. The report had also stated that Ranbir’s mom, Neetu Kapoor is bestowed with the responsibility of hunting a new house for the now what looks like, ‘soon-to-be-married’ couple. It was also reported that Neetu had checked out a few properties too for the same.
Alia Bhatt in an interview had also revealed her thoughts about tackling a person as ‘difficult’ as Ranbir Kapoor. She had shared, “He’s not difficult. He’s a gem.” She further added, “When I met him for the first time in my life. Again, let me tell you he’s not difficult. He’s a supremely simple person. He’s such a nice human being that I wish I was as good as him. As an actor, as a person, as everything. He’s way better a person than I am. And about getting married? Well, that’s the only thing that’s irritating right now. Every morning I wake up to the news that I’m getting married. I tell him what the hell. I guess he’s used to it.”
Further talking about ‘brilliant friendship’ with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt had stated, “No. It’s not a relationship. It’s a friendship. I’m saying this with all genuineness and honesty. It’s beautiful. I’m walking on stars and clouds right now. The best part is that we’re two individuals, who are living our own professional lives in its full form right now. He’s shooting continuously. So am I. It’s not a situation where you’ll see us constantly together. That’s the true mark of a comfortable relationship. Nazar na lage.
