Alia Bhatt recently went live on Instagram and a fan asked her about her marriage. Commenting on her marriage plans with her beau, Ranbir Kapoor, the Raazi actress replied, “When will I marry? Why is everyone asking me when I am getting married? The same question is coming all over. So you know, I am only 25 years old. I think it’s too soon to get married right now.”
A media report in 2018 had suggested that Alia has been well-accepted in the Kapoor khandaan. It was reported, “She has been welcomed into the family by everyone. So it’s not just Ranbir who loves Alia. His parents, sister and the rest of the sprawling Kapoor family adore her too. Marriage is on Ranbir’s mind for sure and he will get into it happily this time. Alia's mentor and Ranbir's dear friend, Karan Johar dedicated a few lines from his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil song to alleged lovebirds, when he appeared on Neha Dhupia's chat show, No Filter with Neha. The specific lines, which the director also went on to sing, were- Tu safar mera, Hai tu hi meri manzil, Tere bina guzara, Ae dil hai mushkil. Tu mera khuda, Tu hi duaa mein shaamil, Tere bina guzara, Ae dil hai mushkil. The lyrics of this song speak of unrequited love, and if it has been dedicated to Alia and Ranbir, we are definitely left wondering as to what possibly could KJo mean! Could this mean there could be a problem in their relationship?
Alia's father, Mahesh Bhatt recently commented on the relationship between his daughter and Ranbir. He was quoted as saying, "Well, of course they're in love. You don't need to be a genius to get that! I love Ranbir he's a great guy." On their marriage, Mahesh Bhatt further added, "What they do to their relationship is something they'll have to figure out. Whether it's heading towards that port called 'marriage' which is an institution that needs to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century is something for them to figure out. I'm no one to hazard a guess when that would happen or which way the relationship is going. It's life and life needs to be lived on its own terms. Let's wait and see what tomorrow brings for us."
In an interview with Anupama Chopra earlier, Ranbir had defined love and stated, “Falling in love is the greatest thing in the world. When you fall in love, everything is great. Water tastes like sherbet and you seem like you are Uma Thurman. You feel great. Who doesn’t wanna be in love?”
Along the similar lines, Alia once stated in an interview, her stand on marriage and career, “I would never fear getting married thinking my career might end. I will settle down if I want to. One should be able to have a career, regardless of being married or not.” The actress was all praises for her beau in an interview. Shedding light on the same, she had stated, “It’s been great working with him. It’s exactly how I imagined it to be. I’ve always thought that Ranbir is such an amazing actor. I’m at times shocked at how chilled out he is (laughs).”
Ranbir's father, Rishi Kapoor also recently opened up about his son's marriage plans. Here’s what he was quoted as saying, “It’s Ranbir’s life. Who he wants to get married to is his prerogative. Neetu likes her, I like her, Ranbir likes her. Get it? I can’t be judgmental. After all, my uncles Shammiji and Shashiji and I chose our life partners.
