For the uninitiated, Kabir Bedi and his daughter, Pooja Bedi's (Alaya F's mother) relations had gone sour after Pooja had made a sly remark on Kabir's second wife, Parveen Dusanj. But the father-daughter duo had come together to celebrate the proud moment of Alaya Furniturewalla making her Bollywood debut and had posed as a happy family at the screening of Jawaani Jaaneman. Sharing the picture with Kabir and Alaya, Pooja had written, “Three generations in film!!! At the launch of #jawaanijaaneman wishing @alaya.f the VERRRRRRRY BEST! Post me your comments on your favourite scene once u see the film. Thank you@jayshewakramani @nitinrkakkar @pooja_ent for a fab film.”

In an interview with the IANS, Alaya Furniturewalla had revealed that she likes to make decisions on her own when she was asked if she takes career advices from her star grandfather, Kabir Bedi and mother, Pooja Bedi. She was quoted as saying, "I like to do stuff myself, be it taking any decision or anything else, I generally take my own call. I believe in 'sabki suno lekin apni karo' (listen to everyone but take your own call). It does not mean that I don't take the advice my mother or my grandfather (Kabir Bedi) give me about films. I do discuss things with them, but at the end of the day it would be my decision. I am quite critical about myself."
