After Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, it’s time for her twin brother, Akash Ambani and his fiancée, Shloka Mehta’s wedding and just like before, netizens are all prepared to track it diligently on social media. Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani’s son, heir to the Reliance Group, Akash is all set to marry his childhood friend, Shloka in a big fat wedding on March 09, 2019. The wedding celebrations began with the garba night at the Ambani residence, Antilia. The pictures of popular Gujarati folk singer, Falguni Pathak performing at Antilia went viral on social media and the entire Ambani clan was present at this galore including Kokilaben Ambani and Tina Ambani. Akash Ambani’s mother, Nita Ambani was stunningly dressed up for one of his pre-wedding functions. The mother of the groom-to-be looked resplendent in a blush pink Sabyasachi ethnic wear and heritage jewellery.
And now, after the traditional garba night, it’s time for the crazy and fun-filled pre-wedding bash in Switzerland for Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta. The entire Ambani clan including Nita and Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani Piramal and Anand Piramal, Anant Ambani and the B-town stars including Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Armaan Jain, Natasha Poonawalla, amongst others have arrived at the venue. As per the Mid-Day report, an American pop rock band, Maroon 5 will be performing at Akash and Shloka's sangeet ceremony. A source revealed, “Since Shloka and Akash are both fans of Maroon 5, the family thought it fitting to have them perform for the couple at the sangeet that will be held on March 8. The source further added, “Naturally, these two chartbusters have found a place in the set that the band is putting together for their gig. They are expected to perform for almost 40 minutes with other hits like She Will Be Loved, Makes Me Wonder and One More Night on the playlist. The team of sound designers that frequently works with Maroon 5 is coming down from Canada to check on the arrangements. Maroon 5 is known to charge anywhere between $1mn and $1.5mn for private shows. It will be an expensive affair.”
Speaking about the wedding itinerary, India Today quoted a source as saying, “The Mangal Baaraat will assemble at the Trident in Mumbai at 3.30pm on Saturday. From the Trident, the baaraatis are to leave for the Jio World Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. A high tea will be hosted for the guests at Jio World Centre at 6.30pm on March 9. Akash and Shloka's wedding ceremony will take place at 7.30pm.” Apart from this, a wedding reception would be held on March 10, 2019, for people belonging to the world of business, Bollywood, politics and cricket.
The Ambanis offered the first wedding invite to Lord Ganpati at the Siddhivinayak temple, Mumbai. Nita Ambani, along with hubby, Mukesh Ambani and youngest son, Anant Ambani were captured by the paparazzi at the Siddhivinayak temple, who had gone to offer the first wedding invite of Akash and Shloka to Lord Ganpati.
Speaking about her husband-to-be in a throwback interview, Shloka had shared, “Despite years and busy schedules, we have always found ways to stay connected. Akash is incredibly grounded, and we share a bond based on meaning and memories. We don't just get along - we also support each other's hopes and aspirations and are determined to build a sense of purpose into our lives together.
